I don't use Twitter, but Facebook will get just one chance to cancel me. If they ever suspend my account for any reason, even for ten minutes, I will close it down. They need me much more than I need them and I will not put up with their cancellation.

I wonder what the will do when they find out that it was the docents and their friends and families who made a significant portion of the museums donations. The poor and middle class may like the museum but they have a lot of trouble supporting it.

A large Boulder was removed from the Campus where it has been for over 100 years. Placed there to honor the University President who was a geologist.

The Boulder was considered racist.

There may be geologists here who can correct me, but I believe they are called drop stones. Very large boulders are placed in odd spots by a melting glacier.

The black student union leadership said the stone was a reminder of the racist history because one time, in 1925, a newspaper that was not affiliated with the school at all stated in a headline about the stone "Dig up N---ehead". That was the only time the stone was referred to in that manner as far as anyone can tell.

Why do I think that some person happened to come across the headline and told the student about it (I doubt the students would have found it without help)? The students decided to flex their muscles just to see what would happen and the University reflexively bent their knee and caved in. There is no way anyone in the school today could have been offended or considered the stone a racist reminder of the school's history. This had to be a test and the school lost.

I am assuming no one in the history department told the school administrators anything about the etymology of the word "Danegeld" or of the phrase "Millions for defense, not a penny for tribute."

Georgia should reply by removing any tax breaks or state funding it gives to MLB or any MLB team.

I hate to tell them this, but most people never heard of the A.H. Belo corporation, let alone of A.H. Belo as a person. Those that had probably did not know he was a confederate soldier or officer either. I would have expected it for any Texan at the time. I doubt the name of the company hurt anyone's feelings.

And proof that this is just virtue signaling is having the press release say "See, we aren't prejudiced, we promoted a Black Woman to Deputy Publisher."
