Re: Oklahoma House passes "Constitutional Carry" bill

She signed HB 2177 which allows the 10 commandments on public property (which most likely will be ruled unconstitutional) and vetoed a Constitutional Carry bill. Go figure. I guess we need to know where our Governor will be ahead of time if it ever comes up in Texas. No reason to pass a law that will be vetoed unless it is just to see how people vote.

Re: Oklahoma House passes "Constitutional Carry" bill

Has the governor signed it yet?

My understanding is that if you are an Oklahoma resident and want Texas reciprocity you will need a LTC (or whatever they call it in OK) and the GFZ stuff around a school still requires a permit (license).

We saw a boat load more 30.06 signs go up after open carry was passed and very few of us take advantage of open carry. Sometimes we regret getting what we wish for.
Easy, if you have a license, you get to carry same as LEO. 30.06/.07 signs apply to unlicensed. Then in a few years when nothing happens, signs go away and we get true constitutional carry. Too bad we can't just jump straight to constitutional carry.
I wish but using your logic we shouldn't have 30.06/07 signs now. But we can all hope for a change.
I think if constitutional carry passes, the 30.07 30.06 signs would either come down, or establishments would add the blue "unlicensed possession" signs to their doors and windows. that would bar anyone with a license nad anyone without a license so they'd have their bases covered...
Not sure what you mean. Blue signs? Alcohol signs? Blue alcohol does not bar you from entering now with a LTC.

I dunno.. I'm all PRO carry (obviously). But untrained, unlicensed folks walking around with a concealed firearm... Just don't know how I feel about that.
I previously held the same views. Previously. People in Texas without a permit can have a gun in their vehicle now. Bad guys don't follow the law and they carry without a permit now. I think the more good guys carrying makes it better for all of us, especially when it comes to voting and when one party wants to take those rights away. The other issue is that I don't know beyond the course given now in Texas how many people do any significant training after getting a LTC yet we haven't seen any problems. So, I am for it.
