Once this first one is established and we're sure it's not going to just die out if we spawn off a second one, I think we'll look at doing one in the northeast. It's a 50 mile one-way trip for me from Plano.
Once again, I press for one in the Mid-Cities (DFW Airport area). This location is equidistant for all that might attend. There's a reason it's called the Mid-Cities. To me it makes more sense to have one central location, than to have 3 or 4 different breakfasts where you only get to meet a third or quarter of the folks you would meet at a central location. A central location means all have to travel a little, but no one should have to travel a lot. Just MHO, and in the interest in full disclosure, I live near DFW airport
The Mid-Cities are centrally located East-West but not North-South. I-30 in the Six Flags / Grand Prairie / Arlington area would seem to be centered in both directions. Traffic conditions vary but this should allow a 1 hour or less drive in a 50 mile radius encompasssing Dallas, Tarrant and many parts of the surrounding counties. There are certainly many restaurants in that area. Anyone interested?

TxGunRange.com Range Rules

NOTE: 30.06 AND 30.07 ENACTED – NO Concealed* or Open Carry beyond the parking lot!
That's fascinating. Range rules are understandable, which would apply to all, but posting signs that do not apply to anyone except license holders is pretty ditzy.

Sounds like bad judgement and fake safety, neither of which is very reassuring at a gun range.[/quote]

Exactly. I guess it didn't dissuade many because the place was very busy. As for me I try not to do business with sign posters ESPECIALLY sign posters in the gun business. I feel the same way about gun shows that post binding signs (not to be confused with rules that guns being displayed/being sold be unloaded and zip tied).

Why didn't I think of that? :biggrinjester:

Aside from Alpine (which was discussed earlier) the only one I know of is on 287 between Mansfield and Midlothian. I've never shot there before so it's quality is unknown. It is on my way home, however, so I'm planning to check it out.

I shoot at that range, it has a $10 "membership" requirement for first visit. I've never seen it completely full where waiting was required. After rain it can be very muddy with standing water in places downrange. http://txgunrange.com/
I left without shooting. They are posted 30.06 and 30.07 as you drive in and at their office. WTH?!

Wow. Make sure to add them to the Texas3006.com database if they're not already in there. Disappointed to hear that.

Very good to meet everyone this morning. Enjoyed some good conversation and enjoyed putting names (real or alias) with faces.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast

Any chance of adding some optional range time afterwards? I'm honestly ashamed at how long it has been and would love to end the drought. :fire

I've already said that I'm in if I'm able to get the time free from work.
I do think if we are going all the way to H-town - or they are coming here - there needs to be range time involved. A trip like that has to be full-day or maybe weekend. That said, I want to do it. So much fun could be had.

Nice to meet everyone. Had a great time. Hope we can schedule a range / tactical training day in the near future. Anyone know an instructor who would might entertain our motley crew?

Or tucked and open carrying.

Is anyone bringing name tags? I have some printer labels that could work although not ideal. I'll bring them just in case.
