Re: in the news tonight

If I have to go to a shop and rob after dark, I carry a Glock 27 in an Akers IWB with a t shirt over it. Or I carry the safepacker in my hand. Or I have the safepacker in the passenger seat looped thru the seatbelt so it won't slide away in a panic stop. http://store.thewilderness.com/index.php?cPat...

If you are in NW Austin, I'd be more worried about the coyotes than the cats. :fire

Re: unlawful carry of a handgun (licensed)

I would suggest that the person had failed to renew his drivers license until after it had expired and then the DPS officer noted that he had a CHL and searched him and found a handgun. No "valid" DL and the CHL is not "valid". Get a lawyer.

Re: concealed in a vehicle

Put the gun in one of these and then loop the seat belt thru the carrying handle. Some :woohoo cut me off the other day and I had to go to 100% brake. Pistol stayed right where it was. Another nice thing is that you can undo the seat belt and carry the pack around or strap it onto your belt. http://...

Re: Gun Rug Concealment

I believe there was a Supreme Court case where the "probable cause" for a search was that the person was wearing a knife sheath that "could conceal a knife with a blade longer than legal length". The Court said, "could you tell if there was a knife in the sheath just by look...

CHARLES! Helllllooooooo!

Hi, I'm looking for support for an amazing new bill. Last session the bill that would mandate employers allow CHl holders to leave their guns in the car got shot down by "property rights" types. And I support that position for the most part, BUT here is another slant on the issue. http://w...

Two points. With the change in the penal code, a justified shooting is immune to a civil lawsuit. And you do not do yourself any good by blabbing right after a shooting. If you have to throw yourself on the ground and foam at the mouth, DO NOT TALK TO THE POLICE! Face it, you are going to be dealing...

One of the first CHL shootings in Texas happened in Austin. A guy that ran a bar on 6th st. with his girlfriend throws a gangbanger out around 9 pm. They close the bar at 2 am and walk to the car a few blocks away. They find someone has broken into the car and is still inside. The guy pulls his Colt...

In a situation as first described, once the badguy(s) were down and the police got there, I would have chest pains and need to be rushed to the hospital. There I would inform the doctor that I am in no shape to speak with anyone but my lawyer. Said lawyer will be the best in the county in terms of p...

Would anyone care to put forth an opinion on winning a suit against a LEO and agency that wrongfully arrests someone for something that is now legal under the changes that are now in effect? How about action under federal civil rights laws?
