The law as indicated in the original post would get rid of the TABC blue signs. They would become obsolete
Are you talking about this sign? This is the one I'm referring to. Probably 90% of the public stores in Texas have these posted somewhere, certainly every convenience store, gas station, etc.

That sign is required if a business sells alcohol. If 90% of the businesses you enter have this sign, then I'm guessing you tend to go places that sell alcohol. And yes, this is the sign that would become obsolete.

Absent a 30.08 sign, then carrying a gun (without a license) past a "gun buster" sign would be a class A misdemeanor in the same way that an overweight woman who gets in a car that has a "no fat chicks" bumper sticker also commits a class A misdemeanor today. Or a sales person who walks through a gate that has a "no solicitors" sign. These unlicensed gun carriers will be joining these other types of folks in "taking the ride", and being prosecuted.
30.08 got removed. So did changing 06/07 to apply to non license holders. The way I heard it, the current version makes a gun buster a no trespass sign for non license carriers. And if they did not amend 30.05, it would be a class A misdemeanor to carry past sans license.

If you carry past 06/07 while carrying licensed, only a class C in most locations.

Subtle but important difference.
What that could be a pretty steep penalty for walking past what could be a very small and inconspicuously placed sign. Do gunbuster signs as they pertain to long guns currently have the force of law?
Gunbusters already apply to long rifles, I believe.

30.08 was removed from the bill. Gunbuster would invoke 30.05 last I saw. And yeah, blue TABC signs going away if it passes.

What's interesting, is that unless they are amending 30.05 in HB1911, carrying past a gunbuster sign, while carrying without a license, would be a class A misdemeanor, which means you could not carry or get a license for 5 years after conviction.

Also about 80% for/20% Constitutional Carry.
Gotta hand it to Texas Carry and OCT, they brought numbers. Haven't seen it so lopsided in quite some time (pretty much never).

And Hijinosa and this "mom" are now discussing how criminals get guns, definitely sounds like they orchestrated this beforehand.

Re: HB1911: Rep. White's Press Release

"Mom" for gun "sense" says plenty of states have research showing that strict gun law states have fewer gun deaths. Glad she has no actual sources to promote this claim.

So far most of the "moms" have sent in their opinion that they oppose, but haven't wanted to testify.

Re: HB1911: Rep. White's Press Release

Terry Holcomb - Police Officers and police organizations have been waving a red flag since 1995 with the original CHL Bill, that there would be blood in the streets, and again in 2015 with open carry. There is absolutely no data showing this, they have been wrong on those two instances, and they are/will be wrong here. Stick to actual data.
Good point.
