So day 43, and no change in status. I don't want to pester the folks at the CHL office, but I also want to make sure everything is in order as well, especially since I have a small concern about the clarity of a couple of the fingerprints. For those more in the know than me (and maybe partly to get someone to post in here other than me ), Would I be doing myself more or less good by giving the CHL folks a call to check and make sure everything is OK with my app?

Nope. I just checked it. Still at "Processing Application".ntex wrote:Any change at day 40?NcongruNt wrote:I dunno, maybe. Perhaps it's seasonal. Well, shucks. My shoulder rig *still* hadn't arrived yesterday, so I talked to the guys down at McBride's (local shop where I ordered it). Galco is out and it's on backorder. They said probably a couple of weeks, but that's probably just McBride's guess.
If my license comes in soon, I'm going to have to carry IWB for a little while. I bought a couple of Bianchi IWB holsters, with one being a cheaper lefty holster for SOB carry.
These are them:
the "Professional" (Model 100)
the "ATB Waistband" (Model 6B)
I really like the feel of the Professional, and am trying to figure out what position to wear it at.
Also, got a GunVault Mini 1000 for locking up in the car. I've got all of the stuff to make a good sturdy mounting panel for it under the driver's seat so that it's securely bolted in. That will be done tomorrow.
Here it is:
So I'm all ready to go, though I wish my shoulder rig was here. If only my app would finish and my plastic would come in the mail!

Wow, that was fast! Congratulations, man.Gleanerizer wrote:Sorry, plastic in hand!NcongruNt wrote:Congrats! I may still beat you if they get around to approving mine quickly.Gleanerizer wrote:Well, looks like I've got you beat fellas, unless the mail is really slow. Austin was mercifully quick.
I've got the advantage of being a couple of miles from the DPS HQ, so mail transit time is theoretically less.
I'm still at "Processing Application".

Yay, got my PIN today! Perhaps the smilies brought me luck.
so far:
Took CHL class - 03/03/2007
Mailed in app - 03/07/2007
Recieved pin - 03/26/2007
Status "Processing Application" - 03/26/2007
Perhaps they are getting quicker... 2 week turnaround (the enveloped was marked 03/23) for sending out PINS. YAY!
