I hunted east of Houston for several years without a dog or boat. Water generally 1-2 foot deep. Just be sure of your footing. We were walking and talking and not paying attention on 1 hunt and I stepped off into about a 5’ deep hole. Fortunately we were headed out because it made for a very cold and miserable walk
