Re: 2014 Primary Results

You're not voting for a Republican. You're not voting for a Democrat. Who exactly is left?
That's a good question. If you vote for Cornyn, it'll tell him that you approve of his job performance. If you vote for the Dem, it'll say that you want their platform.

I used to recommend voting third-party to send the GOP a message. But, with Mcconnell's statement, I doubt the leadership is listening.

Maybe I just won't vote on a Senator at all. The national gov't seems a lost cause. Maybe it's better to fortify the state gov't to slow the tide.....

Seemed an appropriate quote for this discussion....

Re: 2014 Primary Results

Baldeagle: 14th out of 50....that's a high standard you have there....

As you see, there are plenty of voters who don't see much difference b/t Cornyn & Alameel. One is content with letting Obama do whatever he wants with no limit on the credit line....and the other one is Alameel. Kinda hard to fire up your conservative base with that baggage on your voting record. And I wouldn't rule out Battleground Texas....they're moving support away from Davis, but they may see the Senate race as a winnable fight....

....and Johnson was a Democrat.

Re: 2014 Primary Results

Question: how many of the 41‰ of voters who voted against Cornyn will turn out to vote for him when he's running against a Democratic opponent who (with Battleground Texas' funding boost) will be able to spend as much as he does?

I forsee the Cornyn campaign having a few sleepless nights...

Re: 2014 Primary Results

Charles: Thanks for the information. I was disappointed to see Patterson lose out for the runoff, but this helps me vote for Patrick with a little less trepidation.
