Re: Need some advice on printing. And accidental exposure
Considering what I've spent on my 1911's (Wilson Combat CQB, Dan Wesson ECO and Valor, Ed Brown Kobra, Nighthawk T3, and numerous Kimbers, etc.) I would never be able to justify the loss if I ever had to use it in a SD situation, and had it taken into evidence. "IF" you get your weapon bac...

Re: Wild Horses
As a matter of fact, the thought of a motorcyclist is what prompted me to pull over and do something. Back when I was a lowly Tom Green County Health Inspector, I rode a Honda CBR600 F3 to do my food service establishment inspections. One day, after leaving Wall High School, I passed a County Consta...

Re: Wild Horses
Probably the exact same thing. I have yet to have a bad encounter with LEO's, most I have met in passing or during a stop have been more than professional and courteous.

Wild Horses
On our way to our property in Jacksboro, we ran across a downed fence and about 6 horses milling about the two lane highway where the speed limit is 70MPH. My wife looked up Jack County Non-Emergency number and called it in, while I did my best to start getting the horses back behind the fence. Whil...

Re: Carry 'around the house'?
If I am awake, it's on me. If asleep, near me. I was asked once by a co-worker why I carry everyday. My response "Does your truck have a jack?" His response, "Yes, so what?", "So, when you left the house this morning you planned on getting a flat?" He looked at me like ...

Re: Affordable Deer Lease in North Texas Near DFW
I'm paying $700 a year for 164 acres in Jacksboro, I hunt it with my wife's uncle. Luckily, there's whitetail, pig, turkey, among other critters. Look around, there are still decent places that don't break the bank.

Re: Poll: What would be your only rifle?
I recently (last year) decided to stop hunting with my M1A's, and decided to get a "beater" truck rifle. Went to Academy and purchased the Savage Axis .308, Leupold mounts/rings, and Nikon BDC 3-9X40 glass. All for right at $550. Three whitetail last season and two feral pigs later, it sti...

Re: More Texas Women are Packing Heat
Well, like she tells me, she uses our $$ to get me things I won't normally get myself. We have been fortunate that she was able to quit her job after we were married, and she runs the house. In almost 15 years I have yet to go hungry, do laundry, get dry cleaning, clean up anything. We take everythi...

Re: S&W Shield - Does it like to run wet or dry?
I don't over lube Shield 9mm because I carry it regular. When I take it to the range I lube the rails with a little grease and a light coat of oil on the barrell and lug. Otherwise I just use light oil where the book recommends. Never had problems. Yup, both our Shields like white lithium grease on...

Re: More Texas Women are Packing Heat
I was lucky. When I met my wife she had her CHL, a .380 for her person, and an AR-15 for the house. One of our first dates was to the range she had been going to with her dad since she was old enough to shoulder her Savage .250-3000. She has never batted an eyelash when I come home with a new additi...

Re: Going unarmed
I had the same instance happen, Owner of our company asked if I was carrying while conducting a crane lift onto a rooftop (I am a Safety Director) in a bad part of South Dallas at a construction site. We had just heard gunshots, or a sporadically backfiring car nearby. I just looked at him and winke...

Re: Going unarmed
Too bad, I'd carry it attached to my holster like I used to do with my badge before I got a leather belt clip for it. (Made it a lot easier to remove and show it, or whenever I had to remove my gun, I wouldn't ditch have to ditch my badge.) [/quote] Are you saying you have a Concealed Carry Badge w...
