Re: Gun-handling - Ken Hackathorn and Bill Wilson go off

Simple question.....If YOU think that it is a 'bad thing' to drop the slide with the supplied lever, then why is said lever shaped in such a manner to facilitate doing so? Simple solution.....Make YOUR gun without such a specifically shaped lever to do so. It's dropping slide without feeding...

Re: Gun-handling - Ken Hackathorn and Bill Wilson go off

Perfect. So please provide your risk assessment comparing the potential, as well actual, reliability failures across the two platforms based on recorded, verified lifetime field data. That would be highly instructive. And rest assured, I did not assume that your derogatory comment regarding "fanboy...

Re: Gun-handling - Ken Hackathorn and Bill Wilson go off

While the barrel lugs on a Glock don't take as much of a beating, they still get one and will show signs of damage after enough empty slide releases. The takedown lever "fix" only transfers the stress (and eventual damage) from the takedown lever to the locking block and frame. I saw a pre-gen3 Glo...

Re: An Important Message to NRA Members

Sadly Tom Gresham has jumped on the "NRA BAD!!!!" bandwagon based on his recent tweets. I even tweeted a link to a previous post from Charles and called Tom's attention to it. Got a boiler plate reply that referenced media statements made by NRA officials before Tom deleted his tweet. It's been a wh...

Re: Speaker Bonnen sued in Federal Court for 1st amendment violations, blocking critics on Facebook

I see a reference to the Davison V. Randall decision which was a fourth circuit case that was never heard by the USSC IIRC, so how does that come into play as case law in the fifth circuit where a Texas citizen is suing a Texas official?

Re: NRA Leader LaPierre Says Being Extorted,

I’m aware of his efforts and I’m aware that I’ve personally benefited from them. Those past “rights” don’t fix this wrong. It’s a new day, with a huge mistake. He could have just said “I have no comment at this time” and been done. Now, he looks like he’s helping Wayne be a very well compensated, g...

Re: NRA Leader LaPierre Says Being Extorted,

All of that glosses over the meat of the subject. Wayne makes millions of dollars every year working for a “non-profit” using members dues. Then we find out he’s blowing 280 grand on clothes on rodeo drive, putting an intern up in a rented apartment and jetting all over using up even more money? If...

Re: NRA Leader LaPierre Says Being Extorted,

I think all executives making over $100,000.00 / year need to have term limits ( as I believe congress should have.) We need an audit by a reputable independent accounting firm and let the chips fall where they may. If anyone is opposed to such an audit then something fishy is most likely afoot. Th...

Re: Developing Situation in Seagraves Tx.

According to the news the officer and the suspect are in stable condition. The hospital in Lubbock did go into lockdown to keep visitors out due to the large number of people from Seagraves going to visit. Both the officer and suspect were transported by ground because the air ambulance service was ...

Officer and suspect shot in Seagraves Tx.

Seagraves Texas, Coming in on the scanner right now (I just turned it on as this broke loose): An officer, I believe to be with Seagraves PD, reported that he has been shot multiple times. He was involved in pursuing a fleeing suspect believed to have felony warrants. EMS personnel have requested th...

Re: NRA Leader LaPierre Says Being Extorted,

I wouldn’t mind seeing the NRA fallout and members of NRA join up with Firearms Policy Coalition or Gun Owners of America. Heck I think the reason most of us still support the NRA is because it is the biggest and most powerful. I don’t think that their views actually align with most gun owners toda...
