Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight Vanishes

I would guess that most suicidal people do not care about other people, but this generally results in them not really caring about how their death affects others. They justify it to themselves by “they’re better off without me,” but they are so focused on their own pain they cannot empathize with an...

Re: If guns are a right, then they should be Federally funded.

Which is duly pointed out in the linked article. The thrust of the article is that if the Dems would choke on providing funding for the enumerated right to bear arms, how much more ludicrous is it that they want to fund a “right” found nowhere in the body nor amendments of the Constitution, but only...

Re: Waller County Courthouse

I can't either, and the AG's office will not talk about a case that is pending, hasn't been decided. (I've tried). However I can offer free speculation! The case against Austin for banning carry in their City Hall has been decided at the trial court level and the City of Austin was hit wit...

And, the jury decision is in. Punitive damages of 22 Million - whoops, make that 33 million. Wow!
Punitive damages are limited by law to *only* $22M.

Compensatory damages are $11M.

$33M is the total.

And off to the appeals court they go...

Re: Oberlin College Forced To Pay Local Bakery $11 Million In Racial Hoax Defamation Case

So the college may have to shell out some money but what about the individuals? Nothing will happen to the truly guilty people I would bet. Maybe, maybe not. I'm seeing articles that say the college's insurer says the awards are not covered. If Oberlin has to pay out of pocket for the current award...

Re: TX: San Antonio man treats GSW with chocolate milk

Hey, it works! Several years ago (maybe decades) I almost overdosed on some hot Shipley Donuts, if it were not for the chocolate milk, I may not have made it. :biggrinjester:  :smilelol5: "rlol" I think I have suffered from the same malady! LOL. I like chocolate milk with my breakfast tacos, k...

Re: TX: San Antonio man treats GSW with chocolate milk

It was a widespread belief in the past that milk could be an antidote or treatment for poisoning by coating the stomach but that has been debunked for some years now. It wouldn’t surprise me if it still hangs on as a belief, but… seems a stretch to believe it would cover this kind of lead poisoning....

Re: Kay Jewelers store manager no longer employed after keeping on-duty deputy from picking up ring

I don't know all the details from the article but it sounds like the manager may have been following Kay policy. It was an easy scapegoat to fire the manager after a social media notation. So Kay Jewelers has an anti-gun policy, the manager follows orders and gets fired. Kay Jewelers then looks goo...

Re: June 6, 1944

In November of 1960 The Atlantic magazine published an article by S.L.A. Marshall detailing the fate of the first wave to assault Omaha Beach, in particular Able and Baker companies of the 115th Infantry, 29th Division. It is both fascinating and grim reading, and explains very well the need for the...
