Investigators determined that Jaykwon Anthony-Leshaun Dickerson, 22, fired a shot in the direction of Marveno Marshawn Matthews, 34, who shot back in self-defense, according to police. Matthews' shot struck [Larry “Pepper”]Moore, which led to his death.

Matthews was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, illegally carrying a concealed weapon and tampering with evidence.

In November 2018, Dickerson was found guilty of assault with intent to murder and a handful of weapons charges. He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 15 and faces up to life in prison.
