Non military firearms exporting oversight shift to commerce department

In the today's Trump news thread, I brought up he needs to do away with ITAR registration for gunsmiths. It appears moving non military firearms export oversight to the commerce department will do just that. Opponents are already claiming terrorists will now get US made AR's, sniper rifles, and ammunition. I guess a semi auto AR is better than the full auto AK's the terrorist seem to prefer and an off the shelf model 70 or 700 would be considered a sniper rifle in the leftists mind.

Suppressors will still fall under the State Department and a manufacturer would still be subject to the ITAR tax.
