It is to unlicensed people what 30:06 is to those with an LTC. It is a response to Texas passing Constitutional Carry.
I would be willing to bet that 90% or more of the folks carrying under constitutional carry have no idea what that sign means. Or even to look for it.
I'm not sure that I agree. I understand your point - without some sort of formal setting with required attendance, the chances of the dispersal of the information about the 30.05 sign are random. OTOH, the announcement of Constitutional Carry itself was pretty random. Only those with a specific interest in following it know about it. The news media didn't exactly blare the new law from the rooftops. Those that were following the passage likely know about the sign.

Texas has had a law which requires drivers of motor homes heavier than 26,000lbs to have a special driver's license Not all of them do. Some estimates are that 50% of the people that own those vehicles don't know about the special license requirement. I don't know of anyone who was ever cited for non-compliance. In the one time that I've been stopped by the police while driving our RV (which is lighter than the requirement and doesn't need the special incense) the officer during his rant about my driving a "30,000 pound vehicle" recklessly, didn't check my license to see if I had the Class B non-CDL that is required for the weight that he accused me have having. When the law is not understood by either the affected group nor the people who are supposed to enforce it, the chances of compliance are also random. The 30.05 sign will l only become a problem when someone tries something open carrying in a posted place, is detected and the police are called. Otherwise, concealed is concealed.
i have one of them class b no cdl. it knocked dollars off my insurance for my 32k motorhome.
i agree there are a many folks who constitutionally carry have no idea what the law says,
i have a neighbor behind me with a friend that started carrying as soon as the law passed the senate...he had zero idea on details, he heard it on the news
I agree.

Re: Cinemark "no guns allowed"

When to Cinemark 16 in Grand Prairie yesterday. They only post 30.07. I looked everywhere for a 30.06, but could not find one.
