Re: Conceal carry at work

So if the company handbook says no firearms allowed and you are caught carrying, it is a Class C misdemeanor. If you are told to leave at that point and you refuse, it becomes a Class A misdemeanor. Is this correct? If the company handbook has 30.06 verbiage and you are caught carrying, yes. Otherw...

Re: Close call with Glock

You need to be safe from the gun, and you need the gun to make you safe. 1. To be safe from the gun, you need to avoid accidental and negligent discharges. 2. For the gun to make you safe, it needs to fire when you pull the trigger. Thumb safeties can be excellent when it comes to 1, but they can ca...

Re: Close call with Glock

I also feel the Sig is the safest pistol out there. That is why I chose it. I don't know how you could make that argument when a 1911 has both a grip and thumb safety and mt H & K has both a decocker and a thumb safety. Thumb safeties are considered by many to be a hazard when trying to deploy a we...

Re: Storing Loaded Pistol in Car?

I forgot about the grip safety on a 1911. Anyway, Sigs have no safety at all when the hammer is cocked. Press checking a Sig requires the hammer to be cocked. Again, I believe it is extremely dangerous to press check a Sig. Other guns might be safer to press check. Glocks have trigger safeties, 1911...

Re: Storing Loaded Pistol in Car?

The trigger on a cocked Sig pistol is similar to the trigger on a 1911. I am pretty sure Sig duplicated the feel of the 1911 trigger. A cocked Sig pistol is in the same condition as a cocked but not locked 1911. I feel strongly that pistols of these types should only be in these conditions when they...

Re: House Party: CC OK?

Is it OK to conceal carry at someone's house party they invited me to so long as they don't have any 30.06 signs posted? Why not just ask the home owner if you're concerned about the implications of carrying in their home? They can definitively answer this for you where we cannot. If I am not requi...

Re: House Party: CC OK?

In this instance, manners and personal relations might trump legalities. How would you feel if the neighbors brought their dog and/or kids to your party? My concealed dog? My concealed kids? The purpose of concealed is to conceal. If you have qualms about this ask the person sponsoring the party. I...

Re: Storing Loaded Pistol in Car?

Whenever I have to disarm myself, I leave the gun in a lockbox with cable attached to my car seat frame and hidde from view. I also take the mags and clear the chambers so if stolen it won't be able to be fired immediately. I understand the value of unloading when disarming, but weighed against the...
