Re: I stippled my shield

Thank you. It has taken me a while. I practiced on Magpul pmags before I ever did my first gun. Tha way if it looked junky oh well it’s just a 7$ pmag and I don’t care about their appearance

Re: I stippled my shield

Lol. Thanks! I was able to get this gun 50$ cheaper than the new version and I knew I was goin to have to stipple it. So all I have in it is time. This pattern took me about and hour and a half to do and get everything finished. I decided against index stippling for my pointer fingers because I did not think I’d like the way it looked.

Here’s my iron as promised and model # in case any of you would like to know.

Re: I stippled my shield

I use a soldering iron. I will take a picture of it when I get home and post it.

Instead of poking it straight down making dots I touched it at about a 45 degree angle and do it in different directions to make it a random pattern instead of uniform. With the random placement you get more of an aggressive feel. It’s my understanding that they made the texture in the new shields a little less aggressive then the 45 version or full size because people were saying that it was too aggressive.

I stippled my shield

I love the M&P shield but it had a slick grip. I am not a fan of adhesive grips or hogue grips and I didn’t want to get the 2.0 because I didn’t feel like I’d be gaining anything but the grip. I have stippled most of my carry guns and liked how they turned out so for the shield I did what I call the Dragon Scale Pattern. I think it ended up matching the slide serrations beautifully and it gave the gun a very positive and aggressive grip. The gun is not goin anywhere now when it’s in my hand. What do y’all think?
