Re: Government regulation of social media?

Isn't this the whole conundrum? If tech companies own the medium, and we are free to use or not use or use our own, then they have the right to what is, or is not, allowed on their property? All other free-enterpise mediums get to chose their agenda. The real issue is that Facebook, Twitter, etc., ...

Re: Government regulation of social media?

In such a world tech companies would find them selves in court for trying to apply any sort of hate speech filter, regardless of it being from the left or right. Isn't this the whole conundrum? If tech companies own the medium, and we are free to use or not use or use our own, then they have the ri...

Love them! Smoother right out of the box than you will find on a Colt. It's a very popular gun with the Cowboy Action crowd, and if you surf those forums, there lots of info on tuning these guns to your tastes. You won't be disappointed. Mine are always in the bag and shoot .38 from them, reloading ...

Re: Interesting question involving both 1st & 2nd Amendment

Maybe I should have used another example? Let’s try another one ... under Texas law, if your brother is a known Crip, but you are not, are you “gang affiliated”, and how does his membership affect your gun rights It could with unreasonable application, which is something we should not hav...

In that case, prosecute the person if they have committed one of the crimes listed above. Association should not be a crime. Participation in gang activity, "pledging in", is a public statement of agreement and support of, the activities of the gang. If you don't believe criminal activity is a vali...

Re: David French - Why I carry a gun

It was a good article until it got to support for red flag laws. To protect ourselves from being denied our rights when we have done nothing wrong, we need to find a way to move the dialog in this direction, instead of just opposing laws that only affect the good guys. I fully agree that we need po...

Re: David French - Why I carry a gun

It was a good article until it got to support for red flag laws. I agree to a point, but there will come a time when we will have to address this. All of the recent mass shootings had one thing in common - the shooter had been previously known to have problems. To protect ourselves from being denie...

Re: QuikTrip hiring 'hybrid employees' who can work while armed to deter crime, keep customers safe

ELB, I'm resistant to new/old corporate speak. I recall when 'interpersonal relationship' came out and it made me gag. Changing the word 'Personnel' to 'human resources' also made me gag. Or now rather a dated term -'win-win' gag... And my list goes on, but I'm sure you get my curmudgeonly point. W...

Re: Legit or gimmick?

From what he told me, during our brief conversation, is that there is a heavier spring,, at the rear, that prevents "frame slap" He did, not mention, that it was adjustable, but looking at the photos,on the site, it appears that it may be. That spring at the rear is actually a stack of Bellville wa...

Re: Alarm Drop Response

Thanks for the responses! Since this post, have built another house I hope to be in by this weekend. Been working with the low-voltage, alarm/monitoring, folks, who will also tailor and advise my final system outside of normal window and door sensors. Good suggestions and a good reminder to try to r...

Re: LA: AG fights back against 2A suppression

It wouldn't pass constitutional muster to dictate what businesses banks must accept as customers. However, I advocate a law that denies FDIC insurance coverage to any bank that refuses to accept customers or otherwise do business with any person or entity engaging in a lawful activity, including bu...

Re: private property and the police

Sounds a little familiar. Our small community has had a few that were well known as makers, dealers and thiefs. Always seemed to be ignored by law enforcement, but when got in trouble, seemed back out after little time in County. Everyone was just appalled at how this could keep going on, cycling on...

Re: Steve Pinkerton Attacks Christian Self Defenders

I thought is was more middle of the road. Did not see the attack. "The idea of the gun-toting preacher thus showcases the power of individual self-assertion, while also often emphasizing the importance of protecting and preserving a wider community."
