Re: Introducing new Americans to 2a

I truly see no point to this post unless it was to start a financial debate? Your inherent conclusion at the end of your post is false. I have a LTC and am by no means rich. I wouldn't even consider myself blue collar. I think it is a far stretch to say a LTC is only for the rich. It's what, 150 for...

Re: College Kids - Desire to carry

I'm a college kid (at 30), and don't hear much about the subject at the school I go to. Most of the "kids" talk about what party they are going to on the weekend, or if your available to play frisbee golf.

Re: Half Price Records & Books--30.06/30.07

I rarely shop at HPB but I sent them an email anyways. Got back a response that wasn't the copy and paste that others have posted. This was the response. "Thank you for your email, we certainly respect your opinion on this issue. Your sentiments have been forwarded along to our operations team ...

Re: I was going to report a store

I see no harm in posting a pro gun store honestly. If they are pro gun, a letter from MDA isn't going to change that. Furthermore, it doesn't take you to "out" a business. Any of the anti's can see the lack of signs in person.

Re: Impact of 30.06 to businesses

As we stand right now, I'd say we have no impact. Not that we can't have an impact, but that we don't currently. There's what , 900K + LTC holders. How many of those folks are members of this board? If we had all of them as members yes we could make some changes, but as it stands we have the short s...

Re: A quick thought about 30.06 vs our government issued LTC license

Honestly I'm with both of you. It can go either way. Irregardless of if a 30.06 sign is posted, a criminal is gonna do what they are gonna do. If a robbery happens in a business with no 30.06 sign posted, a CHL may save the day, they may not. However, if a 30.06 sign is posted, it's 100% a CHL isn't...

I tried to look at the link but the story has been taken down. I guess the news doesn't want people to see a positive aspect to LTC.

Ah thanks, sorry about that. Have never been in that sub forum. That's funny. My bookmark to this site always takes me to the general section. Didn't know any of those day to day forums even existed.

Re: Another casualty of Open Carry

If the law required metal detectors for just the 30.06 sign, I would bet that within a week of the law passing, you wouldn’t be able to find a 30.06 sign. Or if liability insurance companies figured out that a big lawsuit was more likely to happen with disarmed customers and increased their liabili...

Just send them a respectful letter or email making sure to include the part where CHL holders are statistically less likely to commit a crime than just about anyone else.

Re: Do you carry at home?

The picture with the spider reminds of the simpsons episode where home got a gun and shot the light switch to turn it on, shot the tv to turn it on, shot everything to work it,lol. That being said I have carried at home a few times, but it typically sits on a shelf above the desk.

Re: Houston TV news story

Nice find. Glad no one has gotten hurt yet. I may sound like an old guy (and I'm only 30) but the times really are changing. It can be hard to miss but if you think back to like 2012 ish, you rarely heard about a murder, or cop getting shot, etc, now it seems like it happens almost every day.

Re: WFAA gun discussions this week

That's an excellent point to be aware of. Never assume the threat is over. I remember a story my CHL instructor told ( a story he told so I can't 100% verify if it was actually true or not). A guy was parking in a parking garage, exited his vehicle, someone approached from behind the vehicle towards...
