Re: Uvalde School shooting

Interesting…

“A Texas judge on Wednesday blocked the release of records regarding the state police response to the Uvalde elementary school mass shooting that left 19 children and two adults dead on May 24. ”

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Am I missing the age requirement somewhere?

I am not OK with red flag laws as they will end up being abused by divorce attorney's and government officials to punish innocent people, but when someone is acting like a total lunatic, nothing is done to stop them.
Unfortunately, reporting suspicious behavior and/or acts against people from certain backgrounds and with certain lifestyles would get you either fired, banned, canceled etc these days, making you the villain and the target of the PC culture. Examples, people practicing Islam, “alternative” lifestyles lgbtq……, people of color, any of those would get you on a cancel hit list in this upside down society.
Don’t want to labeled as bigot, racist, intolerant etc.

Of course, fair game if you happen to be white, Christian, heterosexual male. Report away.
That is my take why some of these nuts are not being flagged.

Apparently teachers and administrators didn’t get the memo after Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland or Santa Fe.

I know who would be crazy enough to do this.

Well they are out there, and soft, precious, and gun free places have a target on their backs.

Get trained, get your district to allow you to carry and get your school secure at all times.

We still take our shoes off to get on a plane and that was one time and no one was even murdered.

BTW Uvalde has its own police swat team. People are asking where we’re they?

https://news.yahoo.com/border-patrol-ag ... 27057.html

Then there is this. Border Patrol SWAT ignored orders to stay out of school.
Apparently trying to stop parents from going in.

Duty of care - that should be clear as LE profession has this inherent duty.
Breach of duty - this might be muddy but I believe the standard (by which the IC et al will be scrutinized under) is that in the case of active shooter you go in, there’s no waiting around.
Causation - could be muddy, but again, given the profession expectation from the 1st element this could very well apply.
Damages - this one is clear to me.
Of course, IANAL but it sure doesn’t look good.
Speaking ONLY to that highlighted line, I must be misunderstanding this one. I was under the impression that the SCOTUS has ruled, multiple times, that police have ZERO responsibility to protect anyone. So how does that duty of care thing work, then? In some generic sense? I've never been a police officer, I'm an aircraft mechanic and electronics technician, and my knowledge regarding the subject is extremely limited.
Again, IANAL but here is this:

“ Art. 2.13. DUTIES AND POWERS. (a) It is the duty of every peace officer to preserve the peace within the officer's jurisdiction. To effect this purpose, the officer shall use all lawful means.

Here is timeline of events from video cameras in area.

Teacher propped open door 1 minute before he crashed his truck.

I’ve heard it was a F-250.
I also understand he was outside of school for few minutes before entry. Good Lord I wish there was a armed sheepdog there who could have taken this monster out.

Re: Uvalde School shooting

This is a tough one for all, and sadly it proves why it is imperative for all able bodied, law abiding citizens to be well armed. The help will come, eventually, but you might be on your own for a bit.
Thank the Lord for the Border Patrol Officer who was able to kill this monster.

EOTECH XPS prices are $609-725 on Eotech's website.

DDM4®V7® lists at $1,870.00 on Daniel Defense's website

He also is said to have had body armor.
Really makes you wonder how an 18 year old who worked at Wendy’s was able to get high end ARs, high end optic, and I am sure the armor was also not bottom of the barrel either. Not to mention mags and ammo he had on him. I think TAMs suppositions appear more and more plausible, especially the 3rd one.
All the best gear to commit that heinous slaughter of little kids.

Most kids his age are not well versed in what gear is quality. Most would buy entry level stuff.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says the Uvalde shooter made three facebook posts in the 30 minutes before yesterday's attack:

- "I'm going to shoot my grandmother."

- "I shot my grandmother."

- "I'm going to shoot an elementary school."
In cases like this, which appears to be financed with at least $5,000, I always wonder if someone put him up to it.
I noticed that one AR he used appears to be Daniel Defense DDM4 V11 by the online pics. It took me years to be able to afford to buy one myself, with a $2k sticker. I too am wondering how an 18 year old can afford that. Looking at what is in the media about him, it doesn’t appear that he was a rich kid.
This is pure speculation on my part, but I think we’re going to find out that he was able to afford at least one DDM4 V11 (maybe two) by one of three means:

1. Prostitution.
2. He stole it from his grandmother (or someone else).
3. He was financed by a 3rd party who was setting up a false flag op.

Nobody has stepped up to this point and said, "oh, he was our employee", so it seems highly unlikely to me that he earned the money by legitimate means. (Edited to add…I didn’t see Paladin's post above about the Wendy's job until after I posted.)
Interesting to say the least. As soon as saw rifles used, I thought to myself, here we have someone who is using not a $500 cheap AR15 but a quality one that unfortunately for victims minimized chance for jams etc.

We can send billions to aid other Countries yet we can’t ensure that our schools have better physical and logical ingress/egress points, as well as dedicated LEOs allocated for each school. That’s what irks me.
