Re: City courthouse with 30.06 and 30.07 sign. Legal?

she also ruled that licensed carry could be forbidden in the entire building ONLY when court is in session Where exactly does it say this in the actual statute? Is this judge just completely making things up? Goodness gracious.... Recall the situation here -- she is ruling on a specific case, she i...

Re: I think the forum is dying

In the coming month we will see a new law. I really never though would happen here in Texas. I wish some of the legal eagles would begin going over the new law and advise us what has changed, what is the same, what is new, and what to watch out for. Putting it in Layman's terms would be so so helpf...

Re: Need a new Ankle holster for my p238

Thanks for the opinions. I don't usually ankle carry, but there are some events/outfits where it's prudent to do so either as primary or as back up. While it may not be the best option, it beats the hell out of carrying in a bag/purse that may be taken. That being said, I could still use help findin...

Need a new Ankle holster for my p238

Long story short, I had an ankle holster I LOVED...and it got left in my dad's truck when he sold it. So, I need a replacement. I like the Galco ankle lite, but they don't make one for the p238 (although there is one for the 938 that MIGHT work). I really like having a non velcro retention strap and...

Re: Shoulder Surgery Questions

My dad had rotator cuff surgery done about 2 years ago now. He was a terrible patient! The night after his surgery I caught him in the kitchen digging into an ice cream container with his arm. He pushed into doing most things way too soon, using his shoulder even when he was strictly forbidden from ...

Re: Take Austin Back

it is too bad that groups only post information on facebook, guess they do not realize or care that many people who would attend refuse to use it We are working on that. We know many can't be reached through one media outlet. We're burning 24/7 trying to get information out to as many as possible. ...

Re: Sig P320 as an EDC option

I purchased the p320 compact with the manual safety on Memorial Day to replace my p238 as my EDC. Due to some family complications I haven't been able to shoot it yet but that should change tomorrow! Glad to know others have found success with it as their EDC.

Re: Interesting Psychology: Open Carry & The Weapons Effect

Now when I leave the house she will ask "Hey you are carrying right?" She feels safer and sleeps better knowing we are armed. And that is great, so I'm not knocking it. But is she yet to the point where she's considering carrying one herself ? My wife was sort of like yours.....not anti-2...

Re: Interesting Psychology: Open Carry & The Weapons Effect

Texas Tornado, me thinks you MAY have touched a raw nerve for some. Police uniforms, along with military uniforms, give most citizens the illusion that a strong & calming force is now present and will solve all issues to everyones satisfaction. Not always true. They are human just like the rest...

Please note, this effect is ONLY documented when subjects are already in a state of agitation. It has not been found to apply when just having normal conversations or when not already otherwise in an agitated/angered state. Personally the reporter's opinions and interjections are completely irrelev...

Re: Interesting Psychology: Open Carry & The Weapons Effect

Ok, here's the proof of bad science. Note this: In one field experiment,[2] a confederate driving a pickup truck purposely remained stalled at a traffic light for 12 seconds to see whether the motorists trapped behind him would honk their horns (the measure of aggression). The truck contained eithe...

Interesting Psychology: Open Carry & The Weapons Effect

People oft debate that we should OC based on the notion that an exposed weapon will deter acts of violence, but how accurate are the assumptions we make about OC? Sudies in Social Psychology strongly suggest that when people are agitated, the presence of a weapon object is correlated with more aggre...
