Re: Travel to & thru CA, OR, WA State by Van

I was just going to ask the same question. Taking a trip too the Grand Canyon and my wife really wants to go to CA for a bit. So to be clear, its OK to take my 1911 with 7 round mags. Before crossing the boarding into CA, I need to unload the gun, and place it into a locked container, and then place...

Re: Allen Event Center posted 06 & 07

Sorry this is a few days late and couple dollars short, but a friend and I went to the gun show at the Allen Event Center two weekends ago and upon entering saw two 06 & 07 signs as we paid. The Texas3006.com web site also says the signs are invalid. Who do we need to contact to get them to obey th...

Re: FL:Stand your ground law under fire for parking space dispute murder

The video makes it pretty obvious what happened. Yes, it sure does. Older gentleman gets forcefully shoved to the pavement by the boyfriend of the lady that parked illegally in a handicapped spot. Older gentleman did nothing wrong. If fact, we need more people to step up and speak out when the "pri...

Re: Teens died about 87 and 337 feet from man who said he fired in self-defense

Definitely a lot of interesting info here. The laws may be different in Michigan regarding the proper use of deadly force, so hard to comment on the actual verdict. But I will comment in response to this quote from the failed mother of one of the BG's: "They didn't deserve (Lawrence) to be judge, ju...

Re: FL:Stand your ground law under fire for parking space dispute murder

(by a civilian authorized to do so in Travis County) I thought I should emphasize this since most people do not know it is the law in Texas. Transportation Code section 681.0101 allows any political subdivision (city, county, school district, other special district) to appoint volunteers to enforce...

Re: FL:Stand your ground law under fire for parking space dispute murder

Yes, I understand that a lot of people's wives would not be parking in a handicapped spot. So say she made an illegal lane change or committed some other infraction instead, and was followed into the parking lot by a guy who decided to berate her as you were walking out of the store. What would you ...

Re: Store Owner Charged with Attempted Murder

This reminds me of something that happened to my older brother. He was in the Army at the time, but being a soldier far from the front line, he had a set schedule, and was stationed in Virginia Beach. He was moonlighting as a cashier at a convenience store and was working a night shift with a female...

Re: Progressives trying to recruit "Gilbert".

I responded "no hable Ingles". Trying to tie up all the resources that I can on their end. They responded with something in Spanish. I think I'll reply "Je ne parle pas Espanol" and see if I can get them busy trying to find a French speaker. It is amusing that we have a senate race between a white g...

“I have no fear. I’m in this fight,” Waters told the crowd, according to the Huff Post. “I know that there are those who are talking about censuring me, talking about kicking me out of Congress, talking about shooting me, talking about hanging me.” “All I have to say is this: If you shoot me, you’d...

Re: Police Recovery of an Assault Revolver with High Capacity Magazine

I'm just not sure why the BG's felt the need to have a standard revolver in addition to their wonder weapon. Maybe it was a BUG?
An assault revolver with high-capacity magazines and a revolver were recovered at the scene.

Re: Police Recovery of an Assault Revolver with High Capacity Magazine

I'm picturing something akin to a Gatling gun design maybe? Or a belt fed revolver with a box "magazine" hanging off the side?

Re: Don't need to show LTC to LEO when carrying.

This is the statute as it is currently displayed by texas.gov site. Sec. 411.205. REQUIREMENT TO DISPLAY LICENSE. If a license holder is carrying a handgun on or about the license holder's person when a magistrate or a peace officer demands that the license holder display identification, the licens...

Re: San Francisco Chronicle editor pretends familiarity with firearms

Normally, I'd go on a narrative about leftist buffoons right about now, but I have to call it as I see it. Here's what the article says: 1: This was back in the 90s. No background checks required before 1993. 2: The author of the chronicle article clearly purchased the gun in Texas, not California....

Re: San Antonio considering using zoning to reduce the number of gun shops

So they want to reduce the ability of people to buy guns through an FFL, thereby increasing the demand for guns sold in private transactions. I thought they wanted to reduce the number of guns that were sold without background checks, not increase that number. It's actually fairly amusing to see the...

Re: Do Not make a company aware of their non-compliant signs!

I agree 100% with not notifying a company that you visit that their signs are non-compliant. What do you do when it is your employer? Before open carry passed, my office (downtown Houston) had no signs. I would carry concealed due to the motley crowd that was on the streets (had to walk four blocks...
