He was giving up the element of surprise, subjecting himself to a gun grab attempt, and he was preventing any potential crime in the first place.
How much of one versus the other? Who knows. The only thing I know to be incorrect is if you say that any of the three factors above has a zero probability. Personally, I will continue to CC most of the time, and OC when it is more comfortable, or I just feel like doing so.
And no, OC is not "dumb", and I don't OC "for attention". It would really be nice if we could stop attacking people who's carry choices don't mirror our own.
