It seems that the people in favor of gun control laws are always the people who know absolutely nothing about guns. They don't shoot. Guns scare them (although many won't admit that). And they see people who fancy guns, and own guns as somehow abnormal because we are not like them.srothstein wrote:When I had this discussion with a co-worker, he insisted it would have made a difference. I pointed out that no one realized it was gunshots at first, thinking it was pyrotechnics from the show instead. Another friend and I tried to explain how a suppressor worked and what difference it made. We got nowhere and the co-worker still opposes removing any restrictions on suppressors because it might have made a difference in Vegas if the shooter had used one.bblhd672 wrote: Because every knowledgeable person in the world knows the results would have been no different if the shooter had been using suppressors.
Care to guess who my coworker voted for in the last presidential election?

Re: Hearing Protection Act of 2017
I hate to believe it, but there may be some truth to that. People who chose to be helpless may very well be afraid of those who choose to not be a helpless victim. If everyone is helpless they may just "feel" better. I hope that is not true, but........flechero wrote:They always have, and vulnerability is exactly what they need for a variety of positions they take.... their appeal is to people who are helpless in whatever situation fits the day.Jusme wrote: I think even the left wing liberals, now understand how vulnerable people are,

I love my 94 (1951 model), but with a suppressor? Wow!!oohrah wrote:And here's another angle:
""Teddy Roosevelt is famous for his love of shooting, hunting, and battle. He was an avid gun user and collector, and a great fan of Winchester lever-action rifles, and one of his most-used and prized Winchesters will be a part of it.
That Rifle is a Model 1894 likely chambered in .30-30, which he often called his “Little .30.” Roosevelt instantly became a fan of the cartridge when it was first introduced. He was such a fan of their rifles that he tried every new model introduced, and when he felled an antelope at about 180 yards he declared the .30-30 Model 1894 as “Aces,” and decided to get one for use at home in Long Island.
Chiefly purposed for varminting on and around his property, Roosevelt had it modified and suppressed with a Maxim silencer, as to be kind to his neighbors. “Yes, you guessed it, Roosevelt’s ’94 Winchester comes with it’s very own suppressor.”

My Representative, Jeb Hensarling, is already a cosponsor. This bill makes sense on so many levels.
