Re: Trip To Disney

We just got back a few weeks ago. They don't search your person, and they don't have metal detectors. Honestly, I can't imagine why anyone would want to carry in the park though. Stash it in the car when you get there, and enjoy your time off with your family. It is a safe place to be.

Re: Colonial golf Tournament - Posted?

I'm pretty sure the Shell Open here in Houston was posted, as well as some plain clothes police walking around looking for trouble.

Re: Locking up guns around kids - security vs access

They did not come to murder Really? Is that why they showed up with loaded guns? More on-topic, here's what a friend of mine does. I don't know how well it works, but... They have two children, 14 & 10. They keep most of the guns loaded in the gun safe, but in their bedroom they keep a loaded g...

Re: Found out my neighbor is one of those!

The other issue I see with this is that if he is truly an anti, all of your other neighbors are now going to know about your CHL status. Neighbors talk and gossip.

Re: CHLer shootout with burger king robber

My $.02 (that's why we're all here anyway, right?) I would not have done what this man did, but I'm glad another BG is off the street. Personally, it would have to be either: A) Hold my gun in a ready position, and wait for the threat to leave. If he gets away with some money, so be it. If he turns ...

Re: Home security camera system discussion

Shameless plug... my company sets up and installs these systems for businesses and office buildings all over Houston. We are currently doing the stores for a large retail establishment that everyone here would easily recognize, so if you've got something really worth protecting give me a jingle! The...

FWIW, my Taurus 85 firing pin doesn't rattle, wiggle, or move whatsoever. Just FYI.

Re: San Antonio Children's Museum

So what do you guys do in these situations? Personally, if I felt my safety might be at risk, I would carry anyway--just be sure to use deep cover. I carry an LCP that can go just about anywhere with me, and no one will ever know it unless I need to use it! I might not take the risk of accidental ex...

Re: San Antonio Children's Museum

I think the only way you can respond is to politely thank her for answering and explaining her position. Then agree to disagree and you, with your weapon, will stay away. The organization has the right to ban people with firearms, you have the right to not do business with the organization. I hones...

12. The insinuation that an uniformed police or security officer who is openly carrying has any bearing or similarity on how people will react to an average Joe with a .45 sticking out of his waistband in line at the movie theater, grocery store, or restaurant. Frankly, I don't want to see it (your ...

Re: Buffalo Wild Wings (Plano) Anti-gun!

My wife and I like to go eat there, because the food is good and cheap. First off, "good" is not a description I would use for BW3 under any circumstances. So maybe this is better for you in the long run. Secondly, I have to agree with the other posters. You just ignore the no-guns signs....

Re: Don't think I'd go through the process again.

It really just sounds like your neighbors made a bad choice in CHL courses. Did they even bother to ask anyone for references or referrals? Buyer beware, and they should have done a little homework. I did, and I ended up with Mr. Tom Estep. The class was good, fingerprints, photos, the application a...

Re: Anyone visit the new Home Depot in Clear Lake? Security Q

Well the wife planting a chip on me is certainly a funny thought! I do carry a USB key, but I've had different clothing and shoes on at different times. The only constant is the USB key and the gun. Hrm... Maybe next time I'm in the store with nothing better to do, I can shed keys, clothing, etc...t...
