Yeah, with a metric FAL the lowest rear-sight setting is 200 meters - and typically a 25-yd zero coincides perfectly again at 200.

First 5 shots ever:



First 3 on the left at 10 yards to make sure I was on paper - amazingly no correction was needed; those timing-rods obviously work.

Next 2 shots at 25 yards to confirm - my hold-point was at the 6-o'clock of the big red circle because it was so darn dark I couldn't see my front post against the circle itself. 1" down correction needed; I'll do that Saturday.

Edit: Locking shoulder installed, rifle complete. Just to test-fire it now and set the sights but I'm feeling awful so that'll be for another day.

I borrowed some tools from a friend and went over to another friend yesterday so that he and I could put barrels onto our FAL kits and headspace them.

Barrel clamped in the vise - screwing on the receiver:

The rest of the assembly is easy - we know what size locking-shoulders we each need (that sets the headspace), so we just need to order those on Monday and once they arrive, we're in business :)
