Doesn't have to be much blood - forensics guys are pretty good and a blue light will show a small amount of blood. I'm not going to bet against them.

How far away were they when they were shot? It's easy to imagine somebody shot with a 22 could run 30 to 100 yards before they collapsed and died.
Sure, that's possible - but the investigators likely found blood spatter at the places they were initially shot which helped make that determination. Don't know any specifics about it, though.

Lawrence said he did not know or recognize the men, who had allegedly been on a crime spree, information jurors are barred from hearing.

This is the part I don't understand. Why was this information, kept secret from the jury?
I imagine that, because Lawrence didn't know that at the time either, the fact they were on a crime-spree can't be used to justify his shooting of them.

Teens died about 87 and 337 feet from man who said he fired in self-defense

Jurors on Tuesday afternoon convicted Lawrence, 55, of two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of McMillen and his friend Hunter Lentz, both 18.

In doing so, the jury rejected the arguments of Lawrence's lawyers, who contended Lawrence acted in self-defense or lawfully prevented the escape of two fleeing felons on his property with ill intent.

He used a .22-caliber rifle to shoot and kill them June 8, 2016 on Town Road in Springport Township.
