Re: Starwars: the rise of Skywalker

I still think that Rogue One was the best SW movie thus far, but Episode 8 was just abysmal. There is a youtuber named Vito who does a phenomenal break down of this issue, but it's probably unwise to post a link to it here as he isn't exactly PG-13. Using jumps to light speed as weapons makes the en...

Re: Millions for gun safety research

The sad part is that there is a lot of good research that this money could fund. The issue is that in the early 1990s, a large part of academic clinicians publicly stated that they would use the public trust placed in them and in their research to produce propaganda supporting gun control legislatio...

I have an open 1 lb container that you're welcome to (I don't think that I've used more than 1/3 of it, but haven't weighed it), but I'm on the SW side of Houston. Have you looked at H4831 SC?

Re: FL:Jewelry Store robbery, UPS truck jacking, police chase, shoot out, 4 dead

That was a really neat presentation, but it seems to suggest what the other guy did, namely that urban SWAT officers should be wearing "Crummy House Breakup" rather than woodland, or digi, or tigerstripe et c. As for the event itself, the fundamental lack of judgment is just appalling. I think that ...

This is what we should be doing and funding. When Cain murdered Abel, God did not respond by cursing rocks.

Sweet justice would be Jeff Skilling rallying investors, buying up PG&E assets for pennies on the dollar, moving them to Nevada, and then selling power to the Cali grid at usurious rates.

Re: What oil/lube do you use

I'll use pretty much any oil or grease. However, for corrosion, I haven't found an alternative to corrosion resistant materials apart from constant maintenance.

Re: El Paso Shooting Ranges

My uncle lived out that way and they would just put together ranges out on public land in New Mexico (foreign concept here in Texas, but El Paso is right next to Western states where that is common). Once we needed to test a Benelli out after cleaning it and we just pulled over and shot a few rounds...

Re: Beto visits gun show in Little Rock.

Sales on this website uniformly state via FFL or FTF only and require the presentation of a valid CHL at the time of the sale. Can you point me to that forum rule? I cant seem to find it. I've looked in the "Read before posting" thread in firearm sales https://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t...

Re: Beto visits gun show in Little Rock.

I agree that an NICS database that incorporates byzantine standards and a lack of accountability invites abuse. I think that might be the chief argument for an open and searcheable database. While soccerdad brings up a great point about privacy, right now the only way to know that you're prohibited ...

We can easily forget that the political effect of the 2A is it's TRUE purpose. Hunting, sport and self defense are of course important, but an armed society cannot become Venezuela unless first disarmed.

Re: Beto visits gun show in Little Rock.

I'm also fairly intolerant of people who want to hide behind the (very important) private sales exception to essentially run a business because my neighbor's dad growing up was an FFL. He kept it up as a side for his regular business, but it was mostly a service for friends and family to get firear...

Re: Beto visits gun show in Little Rock.

The in the business of selling guns standard is reasonable, except that gun shows all have an ATF presence for running NICS checks. I'm not a big participant in gun shows, but my understanding is that selling off of your table with no NICS check in Texas essentially does not happen. That is not cor...

Re: Beto visits gun show in Little Rock.

I'm not arguing that private sales should undergo checks, just that we need a real and consistent definition of "in the business". The only guns that I've given away or sold were to people that I know, and this forum maintains a strong ethic of "CHL or Texas DL" for FTF sales. I dont really care abo...
