Are you downloading your books free from the libary?

I too listen to a lot of audio books. (my favorite narrator being Dick Hill)

I've only paid for a few books not available from the library, as generally speaking most books are available there.

I just finished Dana Loesch book "Flyover Nation".

Just finished: "Clinton Cash": The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich by Peter Schweizer.

Wow!

I know the Clintons are an evil, evil force, but this book provides specifics that are spectacular.

Plus, I'm currently reading: "Please Stop Helping Us" by Jason L. Riley.

A brilliant conservative who happens to be black.

"The Lower River" by Paul Theroux.

I've read all but one of his books.

His fiction is superb and his travelogue's wonderful for their anthropological insight.

E.L. Doctorow's "Homer and Langlely"

Peter Mayle's "A Good Year" and eventually I'll read all his stuff. Have already done so with Doctorow...

Ah, ok, didn't mean to annoy anyone.

Before you "buy" a book first look at your local library for it either for a paper copy or it may possibly be downloaded to an Ebook device like Kindle or Nook (something I do all the time) or if you must actually have a book because you're a collector, check out Abe Books.

Many times, they have used hard cover books in great condition for $3.00 or so and no shipping charges.

Why pay full retail?

I just finished reading this self serving, bucket of blather: "HRC" by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes. Hillary Rodham Clinton prefers you refer to her as "HRC" if you're one of her cultish insiders.

Liza Munday says: "Ah, public service, among the noblest of callings, pursued by selfless individuals who have laid aside greed, ego or other personal gain, devoting themselves to democracy and the common good — and when necessary, ruthlessly crushing political double-crossers, defectors, enemies and traitors"

HRC would have you believe she doesn't want to be President, but, sigh, if called to serve the public good, she'll roll up her sleeves and serve...

Gag me with a post hole digger!

"Empty Mansions" - The Mysterious Life of Huguette Clark and the Spending of a Great American Fortune by Bill Dedman and Paul Clark Newell, Jr.

This is a non-fiction mind blower!

"The Devil All the Time" - by Donal Ray Pollack / Wow, is this guy a terrific fiction writer of hard core, low brow, brutal people. Grit your teeth, this guy is savage and hard to put down.

"Things That Matter" by Charles Krauthammer - This is a compilation of his column writings and is a wonderful read.

"Drunk Tank Pink" by Adam Alter - this is a very easy, fun read about things like painting the drunk tank (jail cell) pink because for some reason the bubble gum pink color within a few short minutes acts as a tranquilizes for violent drunks, plus other interesting stuff like how ones names impacts us...

How Doctors Think by Jerome Groopman M. suggested by one of members a few days ago. Another easy, fun, and very insightful read into not only how doctors think, but how such knowledge can benefit you. I couldn't put it down.

Duty by Robert M Gates - another non-fiction as an easy, fun, illuminating read.

"Hallucinations" by Oliver Sacks - yet another non-fiction. Initially dull, but hang in there, it gets wild and very informative.

"The Hunter" by Richard Stark, a pseudonym for Donald E. Westlake - any of his Parker novels are worth reading. Hard core, brilliant, amoral criminal character Parker is a "can't put down read".

Westlake is similar to Jim Thompson, one of my all time favorite crime writers. He wrote "The Killer Inside Me". Excellent book.

Any of Jo Nesbo's books. I've read them all.

I'll stop for now.

I probably read and/or listen to (I'm guessing) two/three hundred books annually.

"David and Goliath" Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants
by Malcolm Gladwell

This is non-fiction.

I've read all Gladwell's books and all are worth reading.

Ben Carson, M.D.

This is the guy whose speech astounded Obama. Apparently, they didn't do any vetting on this man. I think they assumed because he's black he'd naturally belong in their camp.

Wrong!

"Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman by Richard Feynman

"What Do You Care What Other People Think?"

While Feynman was a theoretical physicist, he was also a wild and crazy guy. His books and lectures are highly entertaining.

Joseph Wambaugh's "Hollywood" series. Very funny stuff!

"Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond.
