Re: BYRNA non lethal handgun

I'm a bit more partial to this: https://www.officer.com/tactical/ems-hazmat/air-purification/article/10894839/kimber-pepperblaster-ii-a-review Small, known to be effective, and substantively cheaper. Byrna's offering looks like it wants to be substantially more than it is(range, volume, controlled d...

Re: Defending against someone who is mentally ill

Do not call the police. If you call the police, it seems to generally end bad. I think you're unfairly making this statement based on a few, high profile incidents. The police may not be the right answer in all situations but that's still quite a leap. No, its quite a fair assessment, and I'm sayin...

Re: Two riot situations not yet addressed

2) Barring your way does not generally provide grounds for lethal force. Nobody said it did. It's important here, and MANY fail to do this, to recognize the difference between "force" and "deadly force." If some are blocking me from walking down the sidewalk, am I justified in using FORCE against t...

Re: Two riot situations not yet addressed

I think it would be best to avoid direct conflict, as much as possible. Drawing lines is a personal decision that requires forethought and concise, coherent verbalization. 1) Breaking car windows, in a situation of unrest exposes you to more direct physical violence, if not from the instigator, then...

Re: Has anyone took the time to make a kit or Glock look alike?

Shoot, you're just a bit north. If I weren't working covid, I'd invite you down for a chat!😎 With the Poly-80, make sure(!!!) you get the frame correctly locked in the jig. They may have changed it, but it used to be possible to snap the jig shut, with the frame out of position. I haven't had that p...

The whole short interview smells fishy, he sounds like an instigator. "Why'd you start carrying?" "My roommate got arrested" Nonsensical answers to justify what, his thirst for violence and blood? Does anybody else see the idiocy in his words and actions? Rage of the Random Actor, by Dan Korem. Goo...

Re: TX: one dead at shooting during police protest in downtown Austin tonight

There's a thread on ar15.com from his former leadership. Sounded like he was a dud, but not evil at that time in his life. Apparently he "protested" consecutively for the past 50 days. I'll look that up. I would say its less about being evil, and more about not having the "saga of self" fulfilled. ...

Re: TX: one dead at shooting during police protest in downtown Austin tonight

Looks to me like Foster's left hand is on the hood, and that stock is resting over his clavicle. If so, that muzzle is a whole lot more inline with the driver, than with the pavement by Foster's feet. So. Foster is participating in action forcibly impeding the transit of the driver. IANAL, but I sus...

Late, but hey... Longer barrel= bigger glass. If you have the 20", and your concept is an "urban rifle", e.g., 300 yards or less, a 1-6x with lighted reticle could be an option. I have an older Burris Signature electro-dot on an 18" Steyr, that I really enjoy. This is what I have: https://www.optics...

Re: HD for the elderly- need some suggestions

I would lean toward an AR pistol or SBR in either a pistol caliber or .223/5.56. 30 rds, little to no recoil, light weight, mounted flashlight, red-dot sight or iron sights and a green laser. I'm not a fan of lasers, but indoor, especially at night, it might be just what he needs. (A Form 1 SBR "bu...
