Re: TX:The mean streets of Houston - hero no billed by Grand Jury.

It looks like it was to me.
Ah, my apologies. Must have been mixing it up with the church security exemption that just passed. This ones quite old.

Unless I'm miss-reading this, I don't think he will be.

Sec. 83.001. Civil Immunity.

A defendant who uses force or deadly force that is justified under Chapter 9, Penal Code, is immune from civil liability for personal injury or death that results from the defendant’s use of force or deadly force, as applicable.
I do not believe this statute was in effect at the time this incident occurred. Thats actually a good lawyer question, does an exemption like this count from when a no-bill or grand jury decision is decided, or only on incidents from the effective date forward? Its a weird timing thing for sure.

Also, I'm pleasantly surprised he was no billed. Either in the thread I stated I thought he would be found guilty of **SOMETHING** for that last shot at least, but this is surprising considering the DA and location.

His actions don't meet up with the standards of professional decorum for those who are paid to carry in some form, but its good to know criminally that once Chapter 9 is hit, we're pretty much covered to end the threat. Obviously the grand jury was convinced that he did not believe the threat was ended.

Women sexually assaulted during robbery. Interesting security video seems to show the BG's with a shot gun and some kind of cut off AR rifle (really small magazine?) which he seems to put his hand in front of the muzzle at one point. Robbers are going for big firepower to counteract folks who have handguns.

Saw that video, stupid guy with AR had his finger on the trigger while climbing through the window on the way out.
Also missing the mag, and buffer tube assembly. Most likely a non-working firearm or airsoft gun.

Wife should have gotten out of Dodge.

Unfortunately this can quite literally be near-impossible psychologically. That where friends and family come in. :/
