Figured what the hell it would be a nice barbecue or conversation gun. Had a all kydex outside the waistband holster made and I am digging it. Probably won't be an everyday carry kind of thing just when I'm feeling particularly revolver or flashy I guess.

Re: My fathers Model 999

I had to ask my father to send me another picture of the gun. The serial number is on the bottom of the grip, and according to the serial number it was manufactured in 1966, but there are other things about the gun that do not jive with that. Like the fixed front sight post and a few other things he...

My fathers Model 999

My dad has a 9rd .22lr revolver that belonged to his father. I've been trying to find out how old this gun is. It could be as old as before the 1900s, or at very least depression era. Anyone have any info on these? It is an H&R Model 999 "Sportsman" 9 round top break .22lr revolver pic...

Re: Got a new wheel gun to celebrate the memory of our fallen

I found a chart that claims this serial number was stamped somewhere around 78-79. The number is N568xxx :thumbs2: The Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson with the caveat approximate dates lists N500000 as 1978-80* and N600000 as 1979-1980. The asterisk denotes that the majority of N500000 range r...

Re: Got a new wheel gun to celebrate the memory of our fallen

Buddy of mine twisted my arm into buying a revolver. Figured today was as good a day as any, celebrating the life and service of those who never returned to us. I bought a S&W model 28-2 .357 Highway Patrolman. Still trying to determine the manufacture date, but as I don't currently own any whe...

Re: Got a new wheel gun to celebrate the memory of our fallen

I’ve got a 66-2, stainless 6 inch. Basically the same gun. I have ZERO complaints. Such a sweet and super accurate firearm. You chose well. Yea out of the 6 or 8 he has I really chose between this and a Taurus Raging Bull .41 magnum. I've never liked Taurus even though I suppose their revolvers are...

But always nice when intruder finishes himself off in the kitchen and not in a carpeted area.
Agreed, Though I'm sure Oops steam cleaning would have no problem getting the stain out!

Strange story, intruder stabs HIMSELF after being shot

Intruder was found in the bedroom of homeowners daughter, wrestled the gun from intruder and shot him. Then the intruder stabs himself multiple times, later dies at hospital. https://www.khou.com/mobile/article/news/crime/father-shoots-intruder-after-wrestling-gun-away-from-him-police-say/285-4edfb0...

Re: Looking for a safe recommendation

I'm in the same boat. Unfortunately I live in an apartment so getting a massive heavy safe is probably out of the question, as is bolting one to the floor. I only need enough room for 1 rifle and a few hand guns. For now anyway, I'd like something good to deter thieves but also somewhat fire safe. I...

Re: Forbus 1911 Holster

When I first started carrying I bought a fobus paddle holster for my m&p, horrible thing, once I bought a stealth gear and later a triple T custom made holster it went to the trash.
