Re: Do you remember your very first time carrying after receiving your plastic?

Edit: I think the Wally Walk rules need to be revised. Can't buy pistol ammo there anymore. :???: Yep; agreed. My first carry, I think I went to a Boot Barn. But, wow; I can't really remember. I do remember that my first CC was a Glock 26. Changed my mind about that after the first few weeks, though.

Re: Prayers For My Wife

Praying that the stents do the trick. Still not the most pleasant of procedures, but much better than the alternative, and stents often seem to be able to do wonders literally overnight.

I guess this is the next level torturing a puppy on live TV to protest the death of a man in police custody.

As a matter of seriousicity, they honest to God make holsters... jeez. There ya go! The zombie-horde-is-attacking kit: Plate carrier with six 40-round 5.56 PMAGs and a honkin' Bowie knife (and maybe something tiny like a Kahr PM9) MOLLEd onto it Your choice of a 5.56 battle rifle on a Blue Force sl...

Re: Shocking Evidence Suggests Coordinated Effort To Orchestrate An Uprising Inside The United States

I find the notion of a nationwide, coordinated effort at anarchy and destruction quite believable. I retrospect, in almost all the news video coverage I've seen of active riots, there always seemed to be individuals on bicycles, even in cities where, unlike New York, bicycles aren't common in downto...

Re: Houston Police Chief gets singled out on Fox News

Last year, a rookie officer was seriously injured when he unknowingly stepped between Chief Acevedo and a television camera. :smilelol5: This is why we never see Acevedo and Sheila Jackson Lee near each other at any televised event. In each of them the primal urge to be on-camera is such a mandator...

Re: Protests - the next level?

An analyst calling the coverage of the downtown Houston protest right now (yes; for now it is a protest, not a riot) for KTRK ABC-13, just said that over 2,500 Black people had been killed by police in the U.S. since 2017. (The analyst also went on to say, "Now, some of those shootings may have been...

At first the chief was protecting the city now I see he wants to be part of the memorial for the guy.
Naw. He wants to run for political office. My bet is that he has his sights set--at the least--on being mayor of a large heavily blue city. But I think he wants a statewide office.

Houston had a big jump while Texas went down. Makes no sense, since Houston jump is larger that the Texas increase.

Re: Joe Biden

Biden spoke this morning at Philadelphia city hall. It was scripted this time, read off teleprompters, so few or no unintentional gaffs...what he said was just what his handlers wrote. And it was a paean to hypocrisy. The entire focus of the speech was to throw blame at Trump for the riots. This is ...

Re: Protests - the next level?

Here I almost paid Art a compliment in an earlier post. Art Acevedo tells Trump to keep his mouth shut. To me, it seems everything Acevedo has done in the last 96 hours has positively screamed: "I have political ambitions beyond this police gig, and I see this as my opportunity to make a huge PR pu...

Re: One police officer executed, another seriously wounded, Oakland, video

This is a fake video from years ago. Yep. I agree with Nick. Fake. First, no digital camera--cell phone or otherwise--in the past decade takes circa 1990 low-res 640x480 videos. This is even worse resolution than old luggable-camera VHS tape stuff. Second, with that caveat about resolution and focu...
