I'm a part time college student but a fair amount larger than how you are describing yourself. I'm about 6' and 220. But I carry a 1911 with no issues in a crossbreed holster or a M&P 9c in an Alien gear. Basically a hybrid holster may be the way to go for you is what I'm saying. Good luck.
