Re: Pulled over for speeding - you won't believe what happened next!

Looks like we all have different experiences when getting pulled over. I usually have much better encounters will local constables and even sheriffs than I've had with State Troopers. Every State Trooper I've run into seemed to need an attitude adjustment. You all should read the story I wrote on he...

Re: EDC Gun Maintenance

Lets face it guys! Most of us who clean our guns after every range trip are probably just obsessed with the process. They don't need to be cleaned at all unless there's some serious carbon buildup. I don't clean mine all the time but I have noticed that I'll completely break down some of my guns eve...

Re: I got busted today...

I agree that if you choose to carry a gun then it should always be loaded without any exceptions. I even keep every gun in my safe loaded just in case I need to grab one in an emergency.........but I think that advice still applies to some new gun owners. Why? Because I don't want them to shoot them...

Re: EDC Gun Maintenance

Keeping your guns clean isn't as important as keeping them properly lubricated. As long as you don't run the gun dry or over lubed then it should be good to go. With that said I'm OCD with keeping some of my guns cleaned. I clean them after every range trip and lubricate all of the moving parts with...

Re: Ted Cruz Sign

That's why I know that I live in a liberal town and city. I've seen a lot less Ted Cruz signs over the last several months compared to Beto signs. There's literally Beto signs everywhere around where I live and all around the Houston area. A few months ago when visiting Austin I saw a lot of Beto si...

Re: Carry rules for non CHL citizens

The way I interpreted the law was that it was legal for me to carry it on my person concealed and without a licence only if: You're at home or on your property. Leaving your home and going directly into your vehicle. Inside your vehicle. Leaving your vehicle to go directly into your business or prop...

Re: I got busted today...

Yes it was a gun belt. Just feels too heavy on my body this way. Plus I'm somewhat skinny and my hip bones don't appreciate the gun sitting on it for very long. I only like IWB carry in the appendix area or around my back area. Never works out well for me on the side. I forgot the clock reference to...

Re: I got busted today...

I'll probably choose to open carry my pistol anyways since I hate IWB holsters. What? IWB is not the only way to carry concealed. I've been doing it OWB since I got my license around 16 years ago. Also, CHL is no more in Texas since open carry passed. It changed over to LTC and all of us with CHL l...

Re: I got busted today...

The only experience I lack is carrying my gun in a holster anywhere in public where it's not legal for me to carry it. I've carried on my person enough to have plenty of experience. I'm a fast draw and can re holster any of my guns in kydex quickly. Not so much with leather or soft shell holsters. W...

Re: I got busted today...

My expertise is from buying, owning, and shooting firearms for at least 15 years. I've purchased a lot of firearms and firearm related items over a long period of time. Just because I don't carry on a daily basis doesn't mean I can't have an opinion about holsters. I've owned many of them because I ...

Re: Carry rules for non CHL citizens

I actually talked to some guys at a local gun shop today when picking up some ammo for the range this weekend. None of them recommend open carrying my rifle or keeping it inside my vehicle without out it being concealed in a case or bag. Basically it makes all gun owners look bad to do that like we'...

Re: I got busted today...

I wouldn't worry about it Dcastrojr. I'm pretty sure everyone with a CHL or LTC is able to legally open carry a handgun as long as it's properly holstered. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this? Does it matter whether you have a CHL or a LTC? Is that the same thing here in Texas now since open ...

Re: Incident with aggressor after facebook post.

I agree with the other replies and think you should definitely report him. Anyone that's dumb enough to threaten someone over social media and show up where you live is most likely a crazy person and you can't assume they're not capable of actually doing anything. I say this from experience. When I ...

Re: Carry rules for non CHL citizens

Definitely won't argue with that logic! That day I was already inside the gas station with my kid paying for gas and getting snacks and drinks. The usually stuff most people do at the gas station. Those guys showed up after the fact and that's when I noticed the one who walked in the gas station and...

Re: Carry rules for non CHL citizens

Yes sir! I will be trying to get my license asap!!! Until then I'm going to leave my pistol inside of my vehicle concealed at all times. And until I get my license I'm just going to start open carry my rifle and keep it in my vehicle when driving. Both my AR and AK has a folding stock so I can easil...
