So far the worst road rage that's happened to me was a drunk redneck who didn't like my honk when he almost hit us (my & the wife) in a two-left-lane turn when he changed lanes during the turn. I had to brake aggressively to avoid a collision (hence the honk) and he ended up in my lane in front of me. Slammed on his brakes, came to a stop in the middle of a busy road, put his car in park and jumped out, yelling at us and approaching our car.
We sat calmly in our car, locked the doors (used to drive with doors unlocked - this was friendly TX back then) and didn't flinch when he threw his empty beer bottle at the windshield. He eventually jumped back in his vehicle and sped off.
Back then, there were no widespread cell phones so nobody called nobody. Avoid drunk rednecks. Problem solved.

I cannot believe I have not gotten into a worse RR incident in my whole life. Lucky me. :)
