Re: Lawn care suggestions...

We had a large place in the yard where the grass just wouldn't take hold. Bought a dump truck of rocks and made a rock garden. Planted with low water requiring Texas native plants, cactus, etc. Occasionally have to walk through and pull grass/weeds from the open areas.

Re: When America understood warship building

Navy doctrine was somewhat similar in the 1980s with CVN's leading the battle group for power projection. DDG's and CG's with phased array radar way out as pickets (i.e. as Soviet AS-4 missile sponges and SM-2 magazines for said sponges). Then DD's a little closer in with Tomahawk and Harpoon cruis...

Re: Virginia, Making America Great

So, what was the outcome of the whole Virginia demonstration? Will they still try to pass the legislation? Anything? They'll pass everything, the socialists control legislature and governors office. It will take VA courts or SCOTUS to overturn them...or an unprecedented groundswell of disgruntled V...

Shout out to Comp-Tac!

I need a holster for a new pistol to take to a class next Saturday. I ordered one from Comp-Tac last night and this morning when I reviewed the confirmation email it said the production lead was 5 days, shipping on the 6th day. Obviously this wasn't going to work for me, so I called Comp-Tac to canc...

Re: When America understood warship building

This ole Army guy sure wishes he knew what all these abbreviations meant. CAP, CVNs, BBs, SSNs, and SSBNs are some kinda super-secret Naval code. I know CAP is Combat Air Patrol, I know BB is for battleships, but don't know what it actually stands for. CVN - aircraft carrier nuclear SSN - attack su...

Re: When America understood warship building

The Bismarck bow on is an impressive sight. I'll take one of our last 8 BBs though - the South Dakotas and Iowas. North Carolina and Washington are good looking too (but a little lighter on the armor) The New Jersey BB-62 is the one I saw coming into port in San Diego. I was on the USS McKee at Poi...

When America understood warship building

I had seen numerous aircraft carriers both docked, passing by in channels and at sea. None were as impressive as the first time I saw a battleship.

Re: Keep an eye on Virginia

It would be impactful if enough of us showed up. And the actors who tend to give the rest of us a bad name stay home instead of making scenes with elected officials. I’m one of those guys who raged against the OCT antics and the dumb way they handled themselves and representing gun owners. But hone...
