You are immune from liabilities not from the civil suit. If you loss you do not have to pay. But it will be the civil court judge that will decide if you get the immunity.

After teaching CHL for 10 yrs. I am required to wear body arm. It is not the range, DPS or even the NRA that requires it. It is required by the WIFE.

Under MPA if the officer asks if you have a gun you will have to tell the officer. Lying to an officer could get you charged with a class B under section 37.08

The problem is that DPS does not know if you are giving them accurate information over the phone. If it is very clear that you are not eligible they may tell you. I doubt they will ever say you are eligible until they background check is finished.
