Re: Collapsible Baton-Legal to Carry in Texas

RE: Batons on person or in a motor vehicle. Reviewing this thread in its entirety, I conclude this - Sec. 46.02. UNLAWFUL CARRYING WEAPONS - bans this as a club unless you are in/on your own home/property including going to or from your vehicle or any such under your control. This would apply to a ...

Re: Collapsible Baton-Legal to Carry in Texas

The sticks the "little old ladies out walking for exercise with sticks (e.g. cut down broom handles)" are carrying would seem to me to not fit in the definition "(1) "Club" means an instrument that is specially designed, made, or adapted for the purpose of inflicting serious bodily injury or death ...

Re: Thoughts using laser as bedside gun

Dang, I thought there was a new hand laser that you could use as a weapon, a la Star Trek phaser or something. Then I realized this was about aiming devices.. :evil2:

Re: Shopify Banning Gun And Accessory Dealers

Seems like businesses that use these "cloud software" platforms and providers need to really review their license agreements. Software providers don't just get to pull the rug out from under their clients just on a whim. I would not be surprised if many of these companies have very strong civil tort...

Re: Stolen Airplane... just crashed after a joy ride

The main thing about inverted flight or aerobatics with planes not designed for it is that their fuel pumps are not designed to work at certain orientations of the plane, therefore the engines could conceivably have lost power. Or so I've heard.

Re: Hallsville parent arrested after bringing gun to junior high campus

...arrested Tuesday after officials said she carried a gun on campus....after she showed another adult Tuesday that she had a gun hidden in her clothing while on the junior high campus,... Re: District of Columbia CCL

Update OK. Came home tonight from DC and I had my District of Columbia CCPL in the mail. 7/9 app submitted and 8/2 issue date, probably came in the mail 3 or 4 days later. Less than 30 days. My first Texas one in 1996 took almost 6 months. Also my 2 pistol registration certificates (required for eac...

Re: Still Eligible???

Good morning all... Question for anyone with an answer... I have 2 DWIs from back in 2001 and 2003. The second was tried as a first offense. I finished probation and paid all fines, etc. Would I still be eligible for LTC? 411.172(c) states: (c) An individual who has been convicted two times within ...

Re: No 51% sign in a 51% establishment...

If one 'knows' that carrying at a bar is a 'no-no', I wouldn't. Unless you like to risk your LTC and take the ride. I really don't need a sign. I already know the rules with or without it. Observing the rules is part of being grown-up. Sidewalk lawyering about signs and/or their absence or presence...

Re: No 51% sign in a 51% establishment...

You could but what's the benefit to getting rid of a defense to prosecution? Because it is only a defense to prosecution, not an exception. You can still be charged and taken to court and then you will have to prove you didn't know it wasn't a 51% location. Better to know it is with a 51% sign and ...

Re: Allen Event Center posted 06 & 07

... If the venue is owned by the city, I don't believe they can legally deny you entry simply because you are carrying; that's how I interpret the AG's ruling that the signs are not enforceable. That doesn't mean they won't try to, of course, at which point you would have a decision to make about h...
