Re: Project Appleseed Long Range Event Review

I did my third 2-day event last weekend in Norman, Oklahoma. Helped son and 2 friends get the patch with 22s. It was another very enjoyable weekend with like-minded people. I got the patch years ago in Davilla, TX with score of 234 with a scoped 10/22. Lingering car wreck injuries kept me from being...

Re: Ted Cruz Sign

I ordered 2 of the yard signs a couple of weeks ago. Got one of them put up tonight on a mini billboard for southbound traffic at range on Copper Canyon Road. The rather small sign does "pop" on existing blue 4 X 8 background. Time will tell how long it remains as is.

Re: Need help on suggestions for elderly parents for hd

"with winchester pdx" You might want to think more about that. Unless over penetration is a big concern. After testing various "gimmick loads" over the years, the best I found in .410 is the Federal 4-pellet 00, which held good groups even out of a Judge. And .410 slugs have numbers right up there w...

Another sad local example: Towed on a tube and wearing no life jacket.

Re: Ft Worth Gun Show 6/23, 24

Premier has a smaller one in Lewisville next weekend. June is traditionally the slowest month of the year for gun shows and the gun range biz, so yep, some vendors will be glad to see y'all.

Mosquito control - cheap

https://www.amazon.com/Units-Acre-Kills-Mosquitos-Days/dp/B07C1RYNT6 A buddy in the landscape biz highly recommended these widgets on a local social medial site this morning. Owner of Johnson Feed Store in Lewisville told me late today that he had been slammed selling them all day as a result of tha...

Jarhead Confidence

Had another student that I respected in LTC class yesterday. USMC for around 20 years and cop for 6. Around 6 ft. 3", 225. He had been fairly quiet though the normal coverage of situational awareness, non-violent dispute resolution, body language, etc. Then, near end of class, he briefly shared his ...

Tragic Death in Flower Mound Float Shop

Sad to hear it. Within walking distance of home.

Re: Ruger lcp

I have the Little Cute Pistol with CT laser and a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. It goes out the door rarely, generally only when wearing draw-string shorts and I don't feel like packing the weight of a real gun. Kahr PM9 is more often the go-to gun for pocket carry. Go-to handgun for longer dista...

Below is how I recently modified the LTC page on our web site: Private (minimum 5 hour) LTC classes are available for 1 - 4 people at $60 per hour on weekdays or $80 per hour on weekends (if available). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: 9.22 Necessity

Possibly a quite viable application of 9.22 as a defense. Just hope you could get the situation resolved and the gun put away before the LEOs arrive or you might not be around to need it.

Oliver North to speak at 30.06ed Church

A friend sent this to me today for consideration in putting up on DCSA's Facebook page. Then I asked if Fellowship Church in Grapevine was still 30.06ed. He replied yes and yes on 30.07. His last comment was wanting to hear my thoughts, which I will give him when time for a little sit down session. ...

Re: Does anybody here still care a revolver?

I keep a S&W 637 constantly in an ankle holster to be able to strap on quickly as a #2 gun if it is a day I am to be wearing 6" lace up boots. It's especially handy sometimes for hunting lease trips to be able to switch out Gold Dots for snake shot.

Re: M&P®380 SHIELD™ EZ™ Consumer Advisory

I bought the .380 EZ Sunday for training purposes, experienced the problem when breaking it in yesterday and got shipping label e-mailed to me this morning. Tested with 2 different kinds of non+P ammo and the safety worked its way up sporadically with both. Jury is still out on the grip safety. It m...

Re: Got this shotgun for $69

Quote: "Not something I would use as any type of self defense gun, because, after that one one shot, it will need to be discarded, to transition to to another weapon." Not my first choice either, but, after shooting one off and on for well over 50 years, I can attest to the fact they can be reloaded...
