I have a question about speed strips versus speed loaders. . . . .

I have regular speed loaders for all three of our revolvers (two 642s and a Model 29), but I've never even seen, let alone used, a speed strip. I can see where the flat design might be an advantage from a carry/concealment standpoint, but do they charge a revolver's cylinder faster or slower than a regular speed loader does, or are they more of just a convenient way to carry spare ammunition without it being loose in your pocket?

I might decide to get a couple for the 642s, but I'm curious as to what your answers are before I go spend the money.
