Re: An Important Message to NRA Members

Now that the second lawsuit has been filed against Ackerman McQueen, I can provide a great deal more information. I'm putting together a podcast covering this topic that I hope to release next week.

Re: An Important Message to NRA Members

Charles, Thank you for this information. I do have a few questions that the NRA should be able to answer without disclosing any confidential information. 1) Since the NRA has filed suit against several NY government entities and Ackerman McQueen, are the complaints public record and can you share t...

Re: Post Mortem

An accomplishment I didn't see posted already: All the bad bills that didn't pass. There was a fairly lengthy list as I recall. Good defense is also good play, just not as spectacular as good offense. I didn't rob a bank today. Where's my trophy? I guess you don't consider killing bad bills an acco...

An Important Message to NRA Members

Here is a message from the current NRA Officers and Past Presidents to our Members. It is posted on NRA.org and a copy is attached. I have no doubt that some folks would like to see more detail, but that's not possible at this time. We are suing the Gov. of New York (individually and as Gov.) and th...

I thought firearm theft was a 10 year mistake in federal court. If so, then seven years is a bit on the light side.

Re: Post Mortem

I'm wondering if there will be a post mortem following this disastrous session of the Tx Leg. Normally we have, you know bills to follow and public hearings to discuss. This year, even the crickets where silent. We got exactly one bill through. Although it was an important bill for folks who live i...

Re: Speaker Bonnen sued in Federal Court for 1st amendment violations, blocking critics on Facebook

All of you older guys spouting “but it is only Facebook” are extremely and insanely naive. You are projecting your own dislike of social media onto everyone. Anyone who remotely understands the concept of “winning hearts and minds” sees Facebook for the incredibly important cyber battlefield that i...

Re: Speaker Bonnen sued in Federal Court for 1st amendment violations, blocking critics on Facebook

Perhaps not, but often in a debate the point isn't to win over the person you are debating but to win over the people who might be watching. In the presidential debates Trump didn't win over Hillary, but he sure as hell won over others. Being able to criticize Bonnen and others like him won't win h...

Re: NRA Leader LaPierre Says Being Extorted,

All of that glosses over the meat of the subject. Wayne makes millions of dollars every year working for a “non-profit” using members dues. Then we find out he’s blowing 280 grand on clothes on rodeo drive, putting an intern up in a rented apartment and jetting all over using up even more money? If...

Re: Instructor Renewal

It's a 4 year cycle. Every 4 years, we have to attend classes w/DPS (IIRC, we did that last cycle), Every other cycle, we just renew online. We'll probably have to demonstrate proficiency with other LTC instructors. I don't recall there being any extra renewal steps required for instructors certifi...

Re: NRA Leader LaPierre Says Being Extorted,

I think all executives making over $100,000.00 / year need to have term limits ( as I believe congress should have.) We need an audit by a reputable independent accounting firm and let the chips fall where they may. If anyone is opposed to such an audit then something fishy is most likely afoot. Th...
