I received my renewed CHL 29 days after I mailed it to Austin.

Everyone knows the type...loud, rude...arrogant. Basic attitude of entitlement. The usual government employee type. Now I am beginning to think more along the lines of, so ignorant as to not know when to capitalize a word. This actually explains the delays in entering data to the system quite well. :biggrinjester: Could also be older software being used. DOS would call for cap locks on. In any case...little miss cap locks isn't representing herself very well to the public.
Or it could just be the way I designed the form to make it easy to distinguish the form from the submitted information.

Look at the first post in this thread.

Excellent question! There is no firm date, but I'd like to have processing times from about June 2007 forward. After the legislative sessions are over, things tend to slow down.

DPS Processing Times

A new thread thread is being started so I can have recent information to use in 2009. In addition to posting your processing times, it would be very helpful if you would provide the information requested below. Just copy the "form" and fill in the information. Also, for posts here on the forum just use your screen name. If you would be willing to provide your CHL number, Texas Drivers License No. and real name to me by PM later if needed, please indicate that in response to the question on this point. Anonymous Internet posts and polls don't carry much if any weight in Austin during the legislative session. If we are to change anything about the way applications are processed, we have to have evidence of a problem. The closer we get to the 2009 Legislative Session, the faster DPS is going to turn out CHLs, so I can't wait 4 or 5 months to start gathering data. Please note, the original date of receipt by DPS is meaningless if you left something out, so please provide the date DPS received a complete application; i.e. when you sent in the additional information requested, new fingerprints, new photos, etc. If you didn't send your application by Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested or by Federal Express, you won't have proof of when DPS received it. In this case, please provide the date you mailed it and indicate that next to the date you enter.

Thanks,
Chas.
