Back in the late 70's we always thought it was a fun weekend trip to go across the border and party. I can't imagine doing that now. Not unless one has a death wish.

In the past those have been considered "safe" zones but it sure seems safe zones no longer exist in Mexico. Most of the serious crime use to be the border cities.

Wow. Mexico is a mess. Some of the comments with that story makes one think.

Edit: I just spent the last hour researching Murders in Mexico. Good Night NUrse! It is actually crazy the stuff I find. Why anyone would go anywhere in Mexico right now just escapes me.

I have no desire to go to Mexico for a vacation.
