Re: An argument against 30.06

Your complaint is utterly without merit. Chas. Well, Charles, I can see I have somehow offended you. Anyway, thanks for clarifying. Are you suggesting that if I carry past a 30.06 sign and for whatever reason it is discovered, then I will have the opportunity to leave without prosecution if the own...

Re: An argument against 30.06

Charles, et al, I think the point that is not being made clearly or concisely enough to prevent misinterpretation is this: There is only one [/b] piece of legal, personal property which can be possessed by an individual, which has its own special trespassing law in Texas that specifies that you are ...

Re: Austin: Warrior spirit folks disarm Cedar Park robber.

The really stupid thing is there is a police station at Lamplight Village and Parmer Ln. It's amazing how high-crime of an area that is even though there is a police station right there. I used to do night mountain bike rides at Walnut Creek ... ran upon drug deals in progress more than once. Prost...

I can't imagine any other reason anyone would wear a Hawaiian shirt or a fanny pack.

Re: Friendswood: Man arrested for pulling gun on trespassers

you planning to take that tack when the census worker comes to your door? There is no exemption in the Texas law requiring me to allow the unimpeded trespass of census workers. If a census worker comes to my door and I tell them to leave, then they are under the same compulsion as anyone else. This...

Re: Friendswood: Man arrested for pulling gun on trespassers

Mr. Cambell was tresspassing and penal code sec 9.41 permits the use of force: snip And 9.04 permits the production of a weapon and the threat to use it where force is justified: This is exactly right. To arrest this guy is harassment, pure and simple. If, for any reason, one has decided to enter m...

Re: Pulled my pistol on a guy who got in my car today

If you can carry in the parking lot of the post office, you can carry inside the building. The rule states "real property". That includes the parking lot.

Good thing nobody saw you draw your gun in the PO parking lot. Of course I think you'd only face a $50 fine.

Re: Proof Read - Letter to Employer

... Also OSHA regs are not law.... Really, now? Try getting caught violating some and see what happens to you. Most Federal rules and regulations are not law. But they "carry the force of law". We debate the validity of Federal rules on carrying firearms endlessly on this forum (search &qu...

Re: Proof Read - Letter to Employer

That letter is way, way too long to get read by anyone who values their time. And if they do read it, they are going to fire you, if not straight up for writing the letter, for some other reason. If there is no legal 30.06 sign or wording in the employee manual, then go ahead and carry if you are se...

Re: Rep. Ron Paul did not sign the Congressional Amicus Brief

I tend to agree, but if we effectively granted Federal sovereignty over States rights in the past, why are we now having to cope with Incorporation? I don't know. That's a good question. However it sure is convenient to have selective Federal sovereignty over the states, according to the difference...

Re: Rep. Ron Paul did not sign the Congressional Amicus Brief

Ron Paul is trying to stand firmly atop a slope down which we have already slipped 80% of the way. While I agree with the states' rights argument, it appears that states' rights was effectively abolished in 1865, and if we didn't get the point then, any illusion of functional states' rights having a...

Re: A Right to Education?

And to those that keep bringing up how important education is, I don't think anyone here is disagreeing with that. Around these parts we spend over $8,000 per pupil per year. And the education they get is very much subpar as far as I can tell. It's the lack of a real education that upsets me, and t...

The King James version, from which you quote, was printed in 1611. Later translation do not use left and right. Are we experts on Bible translations on this forum? Howabout NASB, 1995. Maybe that's late enough for you? "A wise man's heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish man's hea...

Re: Healthcare Debate Hits The Floor

So, everyone here is happy with their insurance and have never been screwed over or denied a claim by their insurance company? At least when it happens with a private company, you have the choice to go elsewhere or you can just simply cancel it and stop paying. Try that when it happens with your go...
