but like you, I have no idea where to start.. http://www.akti.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is one pro knife organization that is working for standardized laws. Right now it's a toss up where you get stopped.

I quit carrying a Kershaw blur, because our local cops thought them to be illegal. Then the law was changed, and assisted opening knives became legal. But some of the cops are ill informed, and still say they will arrest anyone they catch carrying them. (ok, just a few with attitude..)

I have always been told that a knife blade is measured from tip to hilt on a fixed blade and from tip to handle.. or the cutting surface.. or as our county attorney told me specifically.. they include any part of the blade material that is in the handle, beyond the pivot point.. :confused5

I carry a CRKT M16-03 model right now, the flipper is fast, the knife is rugged and if I lose it, it's only about 35.00 to replace. However, my knife is illegal in San Antonio, because it locks automatically.

yup, we need standardized laws in Texas..
