Well he gave 26 kids the death penalty and that is exactly what he deserved. The parents were cheated out of justice today.

All capital murders in Dallas County ends up with life. The DA can’t spell capital punishment.

A student who survived the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, last year has died in what appears to be a suicide, police said. It is the second time in one week that a survivor of the shooting at died by suicide.
I wonder what effect the publicity given to the first suicide had.
We will never know, but I would wager it played a part.

We already know Hogg is not the brightest bulb in the box, but like the others on the left he puts stupid into words.
David Hogg, one of the most prominent student activists from the school, tweeted Sunday morning: "How many more kids have to be taken from us as a result of suicide for the government / school district to do anything? Rip 17+2"

Re: FL: Active shooter at high school in South Florida

C-dub I am sorry you have lost a dear friend and are still dealing with that tragedy.

Survivors guilt is a real thing. I have counseled two people in the last four years who have had this problem. Just yesterday I met with a 38 year old retired Marsoc Marine dealing with this very issue.

I don't remember at Columbine the police entering the building and confronting. Am I mistaken?
You are correct the police did not enter the building at Columbine. Now they are taught to not wait and try to confront the shooter. It has been proving over and over that these people usually take their own life as soon as they are confronted or are killed by the first responder.

I don't think we need a "Pit Bull "Officer, but a "Sheep Dog " at the minimum. My wife asked me if I would have gone in. When I said yes, she said we are going to the range more often.
It has been my experience that most of the SRO are either retired, close to it, or an officer they do not want in the street anymore. That does not mean they are all scared. To be fair I would like to hear from the Delity as to why he didn’t enter.

I 100% agree the Sheriff should resign. After 30 plus visits by his department to the killers house and then his leadership at selecting the SRO should be good enough reasons.

why ban back packs? what if I'm a mom and I have my diaper stuff in a back pack because that's what my husband will carry? what if that's what I have my Bible study stuff in? What if that's what I have my Mother-in-law's stuff in?
I'm sorry, but when you start banning stuff, you're telling everyone that someone may be possibly thinking of maybe doing of something, so therefore you're going to punish the whole group. I thought that's why we were so against more gun control laws?
Again - do nothing. Backpacks are not a right. They have been used to conceal illegal firearms and bombs. I have banned them in our auditorium. I have a responsibility to keep my church members safe. We have added cameras, security, and banned the backpacks inside our auditorium. I am not making you come to our church, but if you do you will not enter our auditorium with a backpack. It is called our policy! :rules:
There are many other churches that will allow you take carry your backpack.

What’s the difference between banning backpacks and banning guns? Are backpacks now killing people?
Oh I don't know. Do nothing? How about backpacks are not a Constitutional Right and guns are? It takes away the hiding of weapons. I don't think that is too hard to understand.

Re: FL: Active shooter at high school in South Florida

You do not see this happen in private schools. My personal opinion is the federal government doesn’t need to even be involved. This is a ISD problem. Hire armed security, allow your LTC holders to carry, and control who comes in and out of the school.

The new conference with the school superintendent said that each school had at least two police officers on campus. I heard nothing about the officers responding though.

Re: FL: Active shooter at high school in South Florida

From Fox News: The Sheriff says, "the suspect is in custody." The suspect has been transferred to the hospital. According to Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL), "many are dead."

http://fox13now.com/2018/02/14/20-injur ... rts-state/
Officials have not confirmed how many people may have been killed; 20 to 50 people were injured, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

Sen. Bill Nelson said there are “many deaths” in the school shooting.

The school is now waiting for authorities to give the “all clear.”
