Re: OK passes open carry & TSRA planning for Texas '11 sessi

Those of us that have Reps that are generally pro gun need to be talked to also, They could have got some of the legislation through if they had used some statesmanship and political savy. This is true. My senator (Wentworth) authored the Campus Cary bill, and my rep (Kuempel) was one of the co-spo...

Re: Passing a school bus

Maybe the students at those high school aren't smart enough to know they shouldn't play in traffic. Or maybe its an elementary school and they are tried to keep 6 year olds from being run over by idiots who have no business driving. I am not saying anyone on this board is an idiot or a bad driver, ...

Re: Passing a school bus

This is off the main topic, but does anyone know the maximum speed reduction allowed for school zones? I don't know, but most of the "school zones" around here are ridiculous. Not for the speed reduction, but for the fact that they exist at all. It's one thing to have a school zone at an elementary...

Re: The Day I’ll Join The NRA – An Open Letter To Ted Nugent

But that's my point...do we just give up or tone it down? No! We draw attention to the fact that it has worked in VT and AK. We (the NRA) need to be more vocal about these things. Like it was mentioned by another forum member, the NRA seems to be preaching to the choir most of the time. I'll make a...

Re: OK passes open carry & TSRA planning for Texas '11 sessi

I don't understand how Oklahoma was able to get the parking lot bill passed and yet Texas has failed repeatedly to get this done. Maybe the Oklahoma legislature didn't waste the first couple weeks of their session wishing their biggest donors an official Texas happy birthday. Maybe the Oklahoma leg...

Re: An argument against 30.06

To me, this is the question that is not being addressed in this thread, and the one I'd love to have input on. Why is ignoring other non-gun related signs placed by property owners NOT a criminal offense, but ignoring the 30.06 sign IS a criminal offense? Seems like it has nothing to do with privat...

Re: Houston...

If you go a bit farther southeast to visit Jim in Galveston I'm sure you won't be dissapointed. ;-) Thanks. You won't be surprised with NASA Road 1 or Clear Lake Boulevard, pleasantly or unpleasantly. Lupe Tortilla is one Houston-area chain that is not 100% Disneyfied. People either love Galveston ...

Re: OK passes open carry & TSRA planning for Texas '11 sessi

I don't understand how Oklahoma was able to get the parking lot bill passed and yet Texas has failed repeatedly to get this done. Now Oklahoma is going to have OC and Texas will still be trying to get Campus Carry and the Employee parking lot bills passed. I am a native Texan but if this keeps up I...

Re: Houston...

Sure. Don't come anywhere near Houston or Galveston. I rarely get through the night without mowing down hordes of zombies. San Antonio and Austin are crime-free zones similar to Antarctica or the moon. - Jim :hurry: My zombie count is up to 36,357 (bang!) er 36,358. :fire On the positive, th...

Re: OK passes open carry & TSRA planning for Texas '11 sessi

Parking lot and campus carry are too important to be bogged down by open carry, IMHO. :txflag: :iagree: OC might best be saved for future legislative sessions....but not this next one coming up. Parking lot & campus carry should be the major focus this go around. ;-) Hello Gentlemen, I understand a...

Re: An argument against 30.06

Your right to defend yourself is utterly irrelevant when compared to my rights to my property and my right to exclude you from it. You may disagree but too bad. Thats free rights of private ownership, contract, and a thousand years of stare decisis against, well nothing. You have no rights here. Fr...
