Re: tactical shotgun

Last, get a flashlight holder for the mag extension. I got a great one from cheaper than dirt...it holds the light, plus has rails on three sides to attach stuff to. Now for the light. I've got streamlights, gun lights with pressure switches, etc. I recently changed. This sounds crazy, but I put a ...

Re: Find The Gun For You

G&H, What will be the deal on ammo? Add that I will be willing to loan Kimber Pro CDP, SA 1911A1, Logistics is always one of the toughest questions on this activity. For ammo, I recommend that each person buy some factory ammo for whatever calibers they plan to shoot. I'll work with Charles on ...

Re: Keep an eye on your kids

There are bad people everywhere , not just in slums, dark alleys and "bad parts of town". They're in nice neighborhoods, small towns, churches and charity groups. How many crime victims expected to be victims? As someone once said, "If I thought I'd need a gun, I wouldn't have gone th...

Re: any type of old 30.06 sign???

An older version of the law had different sign language. These signs are of no legal consequnce just as the "no Berettas" ghostbuster signs are of no legal consequence. A brand new building near me recently posted a sign like this. I take it as a gun-loving business that wants to cater to ...

Agree with the above. If the BG's hands are empty, I'd go pro-active and draw to get the upper hand to control the situation. Any rapid moves by the BG and I would probably fear for my safety and that of my friend left in the car (especially if BG flees out the door) and would have to shoot. Reposit...

Find The Gun For You

Charles mentioned that tentatively we'll try to have an opportunity to try out other guns. This is a fantastic opportunity because it can get very expensive to buy a gun only to find out that it doesn't fit you when fired or the recoil isn't what you expected. The point of this thread is to collect ...

Re: Getting a new gun for CC, need advice.

On the Glocks, there is a difference between the full size grip and the smaller grip of the 27. I don't like the smaller grip and my wife is the exact opposite. Consider the .40 as cartridge. You'll get the same capacity as .357 sig and is much cheaper to practice with. As you aparently know, accura...

Re: Program for young people?

Tough call. My personal opinion is that young children should learn to shoot from their parents. Not only is this a potential bonding experience and the beginning of a new dimention of their relationship, this is a very important time to establish firm rules and expectations that vary from parent to...

Re: Interesting conversation at work

In a sad twist of fate, my inability to carry at work (or even have it in my car at work), has enabled me to be more bold with discussing guns and self-defense with co-workers. What is unlucky for me is lucky for the second ammendment and those I may be helping. Those of you here that have the optio...

I wouldn't trust an expert that was not also a student. And your opinion is worth more than you charge for it.

I've been away too long. I'll be attending with Chopped Liver (a.k.a. Mrs. GlockenHammer). This is too worthwhile of an event not to volunteer for, so count me in for whatever you need.

Re: Interesting conversation at work

To advance the cause takes personal risk. Almost all of my risks have had positive rewards including ultimate conversions of gun haters to CHL holders. There are also some personal losses sprinkled in there where my world is less happy than before. Choose wisely, but be willing to take a risk once i...

Just take care that the wind doesn't blow your cover garment back and reveal your gun.
