2020 Prez election: Dems' bench is shallow. Suicide run by ??

President Trump is under constant attack by the Dems and isn't getting unqualified support from the Republicans either. Early in his first term, he announced that he will be running again in 2020. Who could the Dems possibly pick as their candidate to run against Trump? It seems to me that the Dems ...

Re: Atlantic piece: John Correia of Active Self Protection. Loves his HK's.

a sabermetrician of violence who, having cataloged the events of each video, can tell you with nerdy accuracy that a third of attacks involve multiple assailants. So, Correia states that 1/3 of all attacks are multiple BG's, but doesn't carry a backup mag or a BUG? I'm thrilled for him that he is c...

Well, this morning's breakfast consisted of a compact crowd: bblhd762, Mrs. bblhd762, strogg, and myself.

We missed everyone who didn't make it. We accept your apologies. :-)

Re: TX: Houston woman withdraws $75k at a bank and is robbed

IIRC, the husband came out and got to tussling with the robbers, but was not armed.

They run a check cashing business and they don't have their arms at the ready?

Re: Millenial Anti-Theft Device

One of the license plate frames on my Mazda3 5 speed stick says "Mine has 3 pedals....it's a stick shift thing!" I am a dedicated stick shift driver and will only get an AT if I break my leg, or need a truck to haul an RV. People always tell me that AT's are faster, which is true, but a stick shift ...

Re: ISIS murders two American bicycle tourists in Tajikistan

I had a friend from El Salvador, which has some of the highest murder rates in the world, even considering war zones. The stories he told me of life there would curl your hair. It's the home of MS13, MS19, and other folks who would just as soon murder you as look at you. Sheesh! If those Alaskan bik...

Re: ISIS murders two American bicycle tourists in Tajikistan

Speaking of danger on 2 wheels, recently about 12 American motorcyclists left Anchorage, Alaska to start a 24,000 mile trip to the southern tip of Argentina. Although I didn't check the maps of their route, wouldn't they have to traverse the violence-filled climes of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras...

Lena: You mentioned your geography would make the round trip to Frisco about 3 hours. I just mapquested Cash, TX, as noted in your personal information. Cash, TX is 264 miles from Frisco, in a northeasterly direction, requiring over 4 hours each way. Cash appears to be up Wichita Falls/Amarillo way....

Re: Mexican Radio to Beam Chinese Propagand

On a tangentially related piece of radio history from south of the Texas border, does anyone remember the ZZ Top song "I heard it on the X"? What this song refers to is the Mexican radio stations (first prefix = X) in the 1950's which were unfettered by a Mexican FCC (Federal Communications Commissi...
