Trump indicted in Atlanta for calling people there on the phone.

All of the charges carry mandatory jail sentences and include RICO charges.

https://nypost.com/2023/08/15/here-are- ... ent-cases/

Facing altogether 91 counts.
i feel for the volunteers that got wrapped in charges.
sure seems like we are past 3rd world now.
but hopefully they show the ga senate archived video.

and i might get flamed...but trump needs to respectfully bow out and deal with the crud and let others move forward
as long as he stays in spotlight....we get stuck with creepy joe or gavin
i heard the RICO case could prevent him from being out on BOND?? not sure how that would fall out.
how does a state case trump federal cases? ?? One of the talking heads stated the state rico case cannot be pardoned?? not a lawyer, but ....

Re: Today in Trump's 1st term as President

and charged with interferring with election in ga because he thought election was full of fraud.. I summarized

a news person made a good point this morning,
if the new charges would re-litigate the election and maybe prove it was incorrect due to tampering of votes counted
his legal team can now via court order request all the video files the ga senate watched on the farmers area cameras that proved ga vote counters stopped counting, ran everyone out, then she returned with her few workers and they dragged suitcases of ballots out from under a covered table and boom biden got more votes.
its part of the archives now in ga senate records.
we all watched it live during their hearings on vote fraud, now this video will show the world the truth we know at least in ga of fraud during the middle of the night in regards to tally of votes that some how appeared from under a table in suitcases?????

and how can insisting on accuracy of votes be a crime? i can see telling ga gov to create votes being illegal, but he told him to look and find them and look for fraud. based on the video we all saw live

Trump indicted on federal espionage charges.

I believe this is a first for a former President and a first for the front runner running for President.

Other countries can now hold their head up and say we are just like America.

If Trump or another Republican does not win in 2024, I believe this will mark the end of democracy in America.

how can you be told to turn yourself in for booking on charges that you have not been made formally aware of? maybe i stated that wrong.
but if the indictments are still sealed...how can one be expected to turn yourself in on charges that you have not seen, so at the hearing you have legal representation to argue the merits of the charge or NON merits of the charge?
news says he will be formally read the indictment on tuesday at his arraignment hearing
i am very confused ...could just be my ignorance of law??
This is a misunderstanding of the way the court process works. It is caused, at least in part, by most of us learning our law from TV and not getting a real education in the process. Of course, the hope is that you will never really need to understand this process fully anyway.

In general, when a grand jury returns an indictment it is a public record. In small towns, the newspaper runs a list of the indictments (people and charges) each session of the grand jury. Most people find out the charges when they are arrested on the warrants that are automatically generated when the indictment is returned. Many people who already know about the charges (arrested and released on bond pending the indictment) get to arrange to turn themselves in to see the magistrate instead of being arrested.

An indictment can be kept sealed when there is some valid reason to not let people know about it. This could be they think the suspect would flee if he knew, or that some evidence could be destroyed, or that there are non-indicted co-conspirators that could be scared off. In this case, my gut feeling says this is why the indictment was sealed. But to arrest the first suspect, they have to unseal at least parts of the indictment because he has the right to be informed of the charges against him.

But the arraignment (or magistration as we call it) is a hearing where the suspect is told of the charges against him, read his rights to make sure he understands them, and enters his plea. The judge will then set the terms of the bail. BTW, the SCOTUS says this is the first adversarial court hearing and that you have the right to have a lawyer represent you at the arraignment )and the state must pay for it if you cannot afford it).

What I have been looking at is a real potential flaw in the procedure. If a person is indicted in one state, and is arrested in another state, he has to be extradited between the states. If someone were to arrest Trump in Florida, DeSantis has already said that Florida would not extradite him. What would Bragg do then? If Trump refused to turn him self in, would there be a warrant in the system for him? The originating state has to say if they will come pick him up from the extradition. If the originating state said no, he gets let go in his home state again. In every state Trump goes to, he could do the same thing. Let them arrest him and be cooperative with them, but not waive his extradition and make NY agree to come get him. Obviously he would need to avoid New York, but no one with any taste wants to go there anyway. It would be a fun way to campaign anyway.

My last thought on this is that it is going to backfire badly on the Democrats. It will drive more people to support Trump because of the harassment. That will help him win the whole thing. I know they are trying to help him get the nomination because they think he will be easier to defeat in the main event. If they are right, then they already have plans to steal the next election also. And that WILL touch off the revolution, IMO. It means they are plotting to destroy this country (if there was any doubt of that, we have the timeline now).
thank you i admit i am not versed in the legal system that well, I know i was rights violated in NM but NM is as bad as NY for being above board
many many things you addressed have been sitting in my mind pretty hard
it seems very IRAN court or Turkey court system ..
would be interesting if trump flipped off NY and decides not to show up and see what fl will do.
SS already stated, he is not staying in ny and he is not being handcuffed and he is not placing in jail cell. we shall see what evolves or devolves tuesday
if democrats want a full fledged RESET of the country..it might be

Outspoken pro life Priest defrocked by Vatican.

Outspoken Trump fan.

But the priests who molested altar boys were just sent to another parish, or is my memory mistaken?
no prett much true
or they hide them until heat subsides
or they put them in a diocese, that is just as strange.
i am a catholic, but the last 10 years has really turned me off of the one in rome telling me how to live and what i shall like. in fact even local priests toting the party line

easy for me , i believe in God and jesus.
i carry a rosary with me every time i leave the house. I pray to God not rome, or tyler

I don't think his ego will allow him to support somebody else besides himself. Seriously. In his view, anybody who runs against him is the "enemy."
sadly you are right...his ego is a major issue

fox was reporting the fbi demanded the security cameras be turned off at mar lago during the raid. secret service or someone said no and left them on.
sure wish that video gets out there

then i was thinking, i have a wide array of cameras around my abode, what right would fbi or any LEO have serving a warrant demand cameras be turned off? yes they could steal my dvr, but its also backed up on the cloud . and a second hd drive no where near the main unit
seems very banana y
